Good point, Luna's Fan...
Makes you wonder... you'd think that the SS staff would know that most of it's viewers/fans are adults!! I mean, gear it for its intended audience, but remember that most of the staff are in the business because it appealed to them for the 'secret' adult jokes and...
Natural Born Killers (number one, all the way, with a 'killer' soundtrack, too!)
Heavenly Creatures (Kate Winslet's first movie)
Gone With the Wind (beautiful...just beautiful)
Hairspray (fun, John Water's fun!)
Little Women (with Elizabeth Taylor...but I love the character Jo...so spunky!)...
I remember that clearly! The firetrucks, the sheep and then the balloon. And Bert seemed pleased with it too, you know, something quiet...but of course, in grand Ernie tradition, he makes it the loudest. Classic! And then the way Bert leaps from bed shaking wildly...."Waaa! Aaah! Aah!"...
Sweet!
Very impressive! Um, Dantecat, is correct, though it was a Rowlf type voice. And now, okay, was the engineer magenta as well, or was that mentioned anywhere? And the color of the sailor was....?
Thanks again!
Sounds good....!
I'll bite!
Love to know the sketch in which the Count premiered! Could you tell me about it?
ps...gotta say I miss the thunder and lightening, too! Baloons and Confetti? Yikes!
Thumbs Up
Ah, I couldn't agree with you more on the Songs From the Street! But that's the beauty of SS, you have such a wide range of music to select from!
My particular favorite is Grover and Madelaine Kahn. That woman exudes comedic talent from her pores, I believe! And Grover is her...
Hi!
Okay here in Canada we have a lovely thing called Value Village. It's like a Goodwill and just as....okay, you may need a bit of a shower when you get home...anyway...my friend and I affectionately call it the Mothership.
I have found Sesame Street Board Games, the Muppet Show Board...
Okay, I have what seems to be a very early version of a Big Bird plush. About two feet tall, a rubberish yellow beak, small eyes and coarse yellow 'hair' covering it. His feet are simply oddly angular boot shaped. The tag says Ganz Bros, but there's no reference to SS or Jim Henson. I paid a...
You guys are phenonemal at remembering obscure AM's and retreiving the descriptions of! Well, here's the deal...:
On the first Sesame Street record Album (Original Cast recording) there is a song called "Going for a Ride". It starts off with Gordon explaining to Oscar that he cannot sing...
....I agree whole heartedly with you both! And you know, looking at the poor little Bert muppet now, whoa...he looks like he's in a constant state of worry or, "Where the **** am I?" A little unnerving. :(
As an aside, I also like the look of the original Count. Far creepier...the way...
ah, geez, guys...
I feel everyone's pain, I really do! Something about the magic of all this really touches people's hearts. I have yet to meet a person who doesn't like SS or TMS and so on.
The most tearful moments are:
1. When the muppets finally realize who Jim Henson is and why...
It's time to get things started...
Speaking for my brother, when he was younger, every dream he had would open with the theme sequence to the Muppet Show.
I'm sure I have had dreams with various muppets dancing around, but I can't recall any specifics.
aah, here we are...
Sorry, guys!
I kinda figured it was a popular thread!
Well, rather than repeat my first scary SS experience, I'll just add a Muppet Show one for good measure!
Crystal Gayle on Muppet show, and she's standing on the cliff singing some sad ballad song and there's all...
