Yeah, an entire CGI Sesame Street is just not necessary, and goes against what the original intent was, as far as the setting and whatnot.
On the note of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the show may look a little dull in that almost every other kid show is in CGI, but man, little kids LOVE the show...
Just out of curiosity, have you watched the Disneyland video?
The pupperty in that doesn't seem jerky to me. It looks pretty good.
And it all depends on the specific puppeteer. I'm sure they alternate performers.
Also, the puppeteers probably have limited movement given the fact that they are...
Yes, that is a good way of looking at it; Disney is no more "evil" than any of those other companies that you mentioned. Every company is protective of their characters.
You've made a lot of other good points as well.
I have to say that I take that as an insult.
You know, some Disney Internet fans have one thing in common with some Muppet Internet fans, they think that people who are being positive are just practicing blind faith. They think of themselves as "right", while the positive person is "wrong."...
Yeah, that's what is nice about Abby and Ernie and Bert's new segments, they go on adventures and actually do interesting things.
On that note, I really enjoyed the Fairy School segment when they took a field trip to Colonial Trollumsberg. That was really interesting and fun to watch, and it...
Yeah. Elmo's World definitely has a very simple plot and that is part of why it is bad as a part of Sesame Street. Its just stressing one subject the whole time
I've noticed too, it seems like they are always trying to add funny bits to make it more entertaining.
Yes, it really would be better...
By the way, I think that people in this thread have done an excellent job of analyzing the character of Elmo and pin-pointing exactly where things took a turn in terms of how he was presented to viewer.
Again, I have enjoyed season 40 because many of the classic characters have been in the...
I've got to say that I liked the fact that Lulu and Narf made an appearance in the Rainbow episode.
I noticed them right away, but the thing that I really got a kick out of was the fact that Lulu said "Oh I remember you guys!"
Its good to know that they have a sense of humor about the fact that...
I hope so too. That is one of the reasons why I have generally enjoyed season 40.
As some have said, I don't think Elmo is evil and I certainly don't hate him.
Yes, they seem to have dialed back on Elmo lately, and for that I am glad. He is a cute character, but the character taking control of...
As the old saying goes, "Better late than never"
In 2008, Brian Henson said;
"Have they been a little slow? Perhaps. But the most important thing to us is that they are careful. Now, more than ever, we believe they are doing just that.”
And recently he has said;
"...Now I do think that...
Indeed!
Besides, from what I've seen, Kermit has still appeared in recycled material from time to time. That counts for something.
Lets not be too hard on Disney. After all, the Muppet Show characters have made a major comeback lately. They are currently part of a big promotion and have had a...
On twitter, MuppetsStudio gave a shout out to Muppetcentral's 12th birthday.
Things are certainly looking well for the Muppets right now. They have come back into the pubic eye, are part of a big advertising campaign, and can be seen in pre-parades at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
I...
You know, its funny...
I get two Public Broadcasting stations. For the longest time, one of them (KCET) would NOT show Sesame Street in its wide-screen format, as a resut, the framing was off and certain key things would get cut off, like character shots or graphics on screen such as letters...
I don't think that its necessarily true that all of Leslie's characters sound like Abby.
I have heard her perform some characters that didn't sound much at all like Abby.
Yes, sometimes you can hear a hint of Abby's voice in some of her characters but children are not as discriminating as...
Yeah, I can understand that. I think that part of the whole "Its almost time for Abby!" deal is to make it seem like an advertising bumper, sort of going along with the Sesame Street idea of "selling" concepts things to kids.
And yes, a lot of footage does tend to get recycled a lot.
Its...
I know that this thread has been around for a while, and this is my first time here, but I just wanted to share my thoughts;
Generally, I have enjoyed season 40. Unlike previous seasons, this season we have seen many more appearances of the more classic characters such as Big Bird, Oscar...
And to even things out, here is a video of the pre-parade at Disneyland in California;

I really like the fact that some of the volunteers get to ride on the same float as Kermit and Piggy. There are also some really fun Muppet-related props on the...
Yeah.
And Pajanimals also comes to mind for me. I remeber hearing that they had some toys and plush in store, but I haven't seen any of that.
I've looked on amazon.com and they have soundtracks and a DVD, but that's about it.
