Forgive me for coming back to this, but I have something else to add;
One of the core things of Sesame Sesame Street is that its supposed to be a happy place where "Everything's A-OK" and "every door is open wide"
And no matter what problem, scary situation or disaster that befalls the...
Well, as Steve said "Its behind us" :)
Yes, it was unfortunate for Muppet fans to see it happen. But if it helps, just imagine that Kermit had a cold during that performance.
Yeah, sorry about that guys. I guess the link broke. :(
I saw that a while ago and was going to try to link it again.
Thanks theJimHensonHour for linking it. :)
It was an episode from early last year...I think that it was one the season finales. Kermit and Piggy sang "Don't Go Breaking my Heart" with chickens backing them up as dancers. The clip was available on youtube for a while, but its gone now.
I saw it live on tv when it happened.
Since I...
You know, its interesting...
Today, people would never be able to create a new show that featured a character that lived in a trash can.
I still love Sesame Street's setting. Its very different and (and more realistic) than most other pre-school shows out there today.
Oscar is a great...
Exactly. :)
I was especially glad that Steve confirmed that "nobody's mad at each other"
By the way; here is a link to that podcast interview just in case some haven't heard about it yet;

And yes, it is unfortunate that the Fraggle Rock film isn't...
I've just loved all of the hidden gems.
Plus, I love how we've seen so many classic characters invloled in street stories, like Big Bird, Oscar, Cookie Monster, the Count.
Of course, there has still been plenty of Elmo and Abby, but there has been a balance, and that I appreciate.
On that note, I really enjoyed that episode. It was very funny and of course, Oscar is a great character to feature.
I love how so many classic characters like Oscar have gotten so much face time in season 40.

Just to give an update, in this podcast from MuppetCast, Steve is interviewed and is questioned about what happened with America's Got Talent;

Steve Whitmire is brief about it, but in response to the America's Got Talent...
You know, you may be right. I looked very closely at that ending shot, (a few times) and it really does look like Rizzo's head moved back without his body moving back with it.
Yeah. They are techincally considered two different characters, so I don't think there was any issue with that.
And to be perfectly honest, its not just Disney lawyers. The lawyers of ANY company can get snippy over things.
Yeah, I agree.
Yes, it is a real shame that Kermit, being with Disney, has restrictions like this, but its not as bad as it seems. Kermit still appears in recycled Sesame Street material that was made before Disney acquired the Muppets in 2004.
I've seen this for myself, like a few seasons ago...
I agree. I would have loved to see Joey Mazzaino's script used for Muppets From Space. The film could have been so much better.
And yes, there were quite a few issues with Oz. I liked some parts, but for one thing, in retrospect it would have been better if Piggy were not the villain, and if...
