Of course it was Caroll--and he was on stage with Oscar with everyone else for the finale & encores. Pete Seeger popularized the song "Garbage," and later recorded it with Oscar on the Pete Seeger and Brother Kirk Visit Sesame Street album back in the 70s. it was such a nice surprise to go to...
Oscar and Tom Chapin (Harry's brother) performed the song "Garbage" at the Clearwater Concert at Madison Square Garden tonight in celebration of Pete Seeger's 90th birthday. It was a total surprise, as Oscar was not listed in the program. And I got to meet Caroll & Deb afterwards. :wisdom...
well, the one in Bethlehem, PA has the local PBS station on it, i found out when PA cut PBS's entire operating budget this year.
i bet a few are in areas where all the streets are named for spices & herbs, but i bet you're right that most were named after the show and therefore in relatively...
wait, do you mean Sing After Me ("Sing what I sing, sing after me, be my echo if you can be") or Sharing ("Elmo's got, some- something that Ernie wants, Ernie's got some- something that Elmo wants")...or both?
There have been a few mentions on the forum lately of Pete Seeger, who appeared numerous times on Sesame Street and released an album with them. I think he deserves his own thread, not least because he is turning 90 on 3 May and celebrating with a concert at Madison Square Garden.
I was...
one of my favorite moments of sesame street imagination is when big bird imagines the end of luis's book and imagines luis as captain swashbuckle..."and then, the phone rings..."
i do too :D
well, i think that's the point, though--when it gets taken out of context and only single words are presented, it's not presented as a language. same thing happened to asl on sesame street after linda was on less frequently in street scenes and relegated to the "how do you sign ___?" segments...
well, i usually tell the person that the humor was always aimed at adults who would be watching with their kids, and i tailor my example to what that specific person might get, reminding them how clever it is to write a song that teaches something to kids while at the same time is a joke for...
not a tv reference, but there isn't a thread for radio... but yesterday (april 11) was the 101st day of the year, so at the end of All Things Considered on NPR, they played the ss funky chimes and had elmo announce that the day's sponsors were the number 101 and the letters n, p, and r. you...
New set of questions
looks like it's time for a new set of questions
1. Favorite Monsterpiece Theater?
2. Favorite stop-motion animation insert?
3. Chrissy and the Alphabeats or Jerry and the Monotones?
4. Any song stuck in your head since you heard it x number of years ago when you...
oh I love Linda. i wish there were more clips of her on youtube & on the sw website. she was always one of my favorite characters on sesame street. a calm voice of reason in the face of muppet silliness, yet always warm and welcoming. and the bob & linda romance was sooo cute :flirt:
so...
you don't need an ipod--you can download & play them on your computer if you have itunes, which, if you don't have it already you can download for free and use on a pc or mac.
yup. the whole thing can be downloaded for free from itunes. along with a bunch of other Learn Along with Sesame Street shows. & the credits on the full version say Tyler Bunch performed Louie. it also lists Matt Vogel and Laura MacLean as muppet performers in the show, so I would guess that...
i don't know what they've aired on tv, but this is the fourth in the series for military families. the first one was elmo's dad's deployment, the second one was rosita getting used to her dad in a wheelchair, the third one was elmo's family adjusting to life with elmo's dad back again and right...
Bob is my hero! :super::flirt::) on Sesame Street and off. he's such a sweetheart & he's got a gorgeous voice. of course, a great performer needs more than vocal skill to make a song memorable, but whatever it is, Bob's got it. like if you watch him sing Boy From Indiana or Good Morning...
sesame street has plenty of messages everyone can relate to. if you watch the archive of american television interview of roscoe orman on youtube, he talks about getting letters from adults who were going through tough times and flipped on the tv and happened to find sesame street and it STILL...
