Back when The Empire Strikes Back was released, George Lucas wanted Frank Oz to be nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Yoda, but the academy didn't consider puppeteering to be acting. If there was a Best Voiceover category, then he could have been nominated. I would have...
If there was a Best Comedy category, then it could be nominated for best comedy. Otherwise, it could have had nominatiosn for best picture, Best Actor, Best Writer, Best Makeup, Best Director, and so on.
Who else thinks that the academy awards needs a new category?
Here are some categories I think they should have:
-Best Comedy
-Best Movie with a Gimmick
-Best Voice Actor (includes puppeteers as well)
In addition, I think that the category for Best Animated Picture should have...
Part 3
(Harvey Kneeslapper is still sitting in the corner when his mother and father enter the room)
Harvey Kneeslapper's Father: (holding a big hammer) Harvey Kneeslapper!
Harvey Kneeslapper: Yes, Pop?
Harvey Kneeslapper's Father: Put down those books!
Harvey Kneeslapper: Oh, finally...
Chapter 2
(Harvey Kneeslapper is sitting in a corner, wearing a pointy hat labled "Dunc" and having his arms spread out, balancing three books per hand)
Harvey Kneeslapper's Mother: Now, you just sit there for three hours, ya understand me?
Harvey Kneeslapper: Yes, mother.
Harvey...
I hope that this special get's either an american broadcast or DVD release. Or maybe it will be included as a special feature on a Muppet Show season set (assuming that Disney owns the rights to this special, but even if Disney doesn't, Disney could try to negotiate with the owners of the...
Part 1
(Harvey Kneeslapper walks up to a green man)
Harvey Kneeslapper: Hey, do you have a spare L on ya?
Green man: No.
Harvey Kneeslapper: Well, I do! (holds up L) Do you want this L?
Green Man: No, I'd rather you get the L out of here.
Harvey Kneeslapper: Well, you can't always get...
To Was Once Ernie:
You said that you were originally planned to be in the Emmet Otter line. Did you know what the Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas special was at the time? I aks because I read that although it was produced in 1977, it wasn't broadcast in america untill 1980.
Well, since tonight is oscar night, I thought I'd bump this thread so that people who are in an Oscary mood can read this. Or perhaps so that people who didn't see it can read it.
:grouchy:
If Cookie Monster were concerned about the pain of taking his fur out by pulling a letter off his chest, then maybe Prairie Dawn should start putting the letter of the day on him just so he won't want to eat it (unless pulling his fur off would be worth eating the letter). :p
I wonder how the Two-Headed Monster was performed as a walk-around. It would probably be hard for one person (at least one one-headed person) to wear a two-headed monster outfit without one head looking limb.
Because the rights are split between companies. Disney owns the rights to the MuppeTelevision segments, Miss Piggy's Hollywood, the Dog City pre-show sequence, and the muppet-specific sequences from The Secrets of The Muppets (and I think Disney might also own the Innertube pilot, or at least...
(Cookie Monster walks behind a brick wall, which has a plate full of cookies on top of it)
Cookie Monster: Dum, dee, dum, dum... (notices cookies) Oh, boy! Cookies! (sees sign, which reads "Free Cookies") Cowabunga! (eats all of the cookies in the way that cookie monster normally eats cookies)...
Does anybody know who performed Warren Wolf? Also, does anybody know if Warren Wolf was a regular character or just a one-shot character, appearing only in the sketch where he interviewed Dr. Nobel Price?
