There is a shop in Toronto that has the hard-to-find Cookie Monster/Grover blue shag fur. If it's not the fur, it's pretty darn close. It's the first time I've ever actually seen it in a store. I think it's $60/Cdn per yard (about $40 US). If some people really wanted some I could pick some up...
There are alot of different step by step guides for puppetry on the net. What are you looking for specifically?
Usually the best place to start looking for puppetry info of any kind is Rose Sage's Puppetry Homepage.
No, it's not, but I know his work. Whoever did the short I am thinking of was too young to be a Spitting Image alumni......Simon's does pretty cool work though.
Congratulations Neil! The film looks really good - hopefully it will get a wide release. If you haven't already submitted it to the Toronto Film Festival this year (and if it's intended for young audiences) you might want to consider Sprockets, which is the TIFF's festival for films for young...
My understanding (and someone please correct me if I am wrong) is that Sony's distribution deal is going to expire soon (that's why they were interested in acquiring Henson recently) so likely now that the company is back in the family's hands they'll either cut a new deal with Sony or someone...
I'll have to check out those finding Nemo puppets when I have a little more cash....I'm kinda sorry I never got one of the large Simba puppets years ago.
No ujnfortunately. I don't think he is anyone well-known, but he was part of a co-op of indie filmmakers in England. He also had done another short about a guy walking through the woods with a racoon (the racoon was a puppet as well).
Whoever he is, he is very talented.
I'm trying to locate a puppeteer/filmmaker who did a short film a year or two ago about a guy in prison who befriends a bird. It was on the web a year or so ago but now I can't find it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Maybe a UK Muppet/puppet fan can help.....
This is old news...we've heard about Muppet Haunted House for years, but did anyone know it was in active development as little as a year ago? According to fox.com the creators of Greg the Bunny were working on the script last year.
Has anyone heard anything since then?
This is going back a few posts, but I believe Warrick is right about at least some of the Fraggles still being around. I know people who did "try-outs" a few years ago in New York and they used old background Fraggles. The story I got was that they were either in rough shape, or they weren't...
I haven't liked the Disney stores for years, the product lines really suck. They were OK when you could find neat Henson stuff in them years ago. I don't think I'd ever have a reason to shop them, but it would be nice if they were more like the WB Stores - the ones in Japan are especially good...
It's a great menu Jamie, thanks for putting it together for everyone.
I still remember when I heard the sad news - I was really sick that year as a kid (I was 12 or 13) and it came over the radio that had been left on in a room where I was having some kind of heart test done.
Probably most...
There was also an unaired pilot produced for Fox, portions of which were later reworked in to the 1st aired episode "Welcome To Sweet Knuckle Junction." There is a complete episode guide (it includes the never seen episodes) for the Fox series over at TV Tome.
Does anyone know any online...
I don't know what happened to gregthebunny.org - it was a great site with lots of old stuff from Greg's IFC and cable access days. The only major site still online is over at fox.com like Scooter said - the uRL is www.fox.com/greg.
Anthony Head won't be on Angel next year (well not as a regular cast member at any rate), but the character of Spike will be moving over. The season-ender of Angel spun the show in a totally new direction but left no clue as to how Spike will be joining up, although (presumably) we'll have some...
I am not sure if this was already posted here (if it was I apologise for the duplication), but Disney is hiring puppeteers for their "Playhouse Disney" stage show at Disneyland.
The audition notice is as follows:
The Character Department at the Disneyland Resort is casting puppeteers...
