Hey, has anyone else around here heard of Puppet Terrors? I think this is still sort of a horror/underground thing but I thought it was kind of neat, just because they're producing some really fabulously detailed hand puppets. Not my kinda thing really, but kinda cool.
Be advised that...
If anyone wants to see another photo, I have one posted in my Blog. Pretty much the same thing, but a different angle and cropped a little wider.

You'll have to scroll down the page a bit to see it...it's part of the October 14th entry. Above it there is...
Any decent art supply store in your area should carry liquid latex. Check the yellow pages and call around. It is usually in the section with the sculpture and molding supplies (most artists use liquid latex to make molds). I generally use Mold Craft Liquid Latex, mostly out of convienence (the...
The Renaissance Artist Puppet Company is seeking a female performer:
Performer should be able to be available am - early afternoon on Mon., Tues, and Thurs. for studio and rehearsal time. We are willing to work around part time jobs for the right person. This person should have a decent...
I know one source of flocking wands is:
Creative Coatings Corporation
28 Charron Ave
POBox 1165
Nashua, NH 03061
Tel 800 229-1957 fax 603-889-3780
Steve Axtell has pictures of these and a brief overview of flocking on the Axtell Expressions site - http://www.axtell.com/flock.html
If by "plaster coat" you mean Sculpt or Coat (which Drew Allison uses extensively I believe) it can be purchased from:
Sculptural Arts Coating, Inc.
501 Guilford Ave. Greensboro, NC 27401
1-800-743-0379
They also have a website - http://www.sculpturalarts.com (click on the "puppet" page)...
Did Open Sesame include footage from "Canadian Sesame Street"? I never saw any, and also I thought that footage was owned by CBC, not Sesame Workshop (though they actually hold the rights on the characters).
My understanding was that Sesame Workshop sold footage to CBC who then spliced in...
I believe the version YTV airs of this is edited, unless you taped a broadcast from 10 or more years ago. For the complete, original version you need a tape of the ABC Broadcast in the 1980s I think.
I know that several people have been asking about UK puppet resources and that we also have several members from "across the pond" so I thought I would share this brand-new puppetry web site - Puppeteers UK. It is still in it's early stages, but it looks like it will be fabulous resource for...
Nice to see someone else from T.O. made the trip down for for this. I too lucked in to some Avenue Q tickets and had a great puppetry-filled week in the big apple.
Just in general, I think we should all be careful not to comment/speculate on the personal lives of the Henson family as per the...
I think it probably will, eventually. I know that publicly no decision has been made yet but it would be surprising if it hasn't been discussed by the producers. I know the Broadway cast is under contract for a year supposedly and some of them have speculated in interviews about how the show...
Thanks Treelo, I should have included that in my original post. They have been doing on-going casting for awhile. Not sure what they are looking for exactly, from what I understand most of the puppeteers and understudies are under contract through July of next year.
Yes. The characters are all designed, built and approved by the Muppet workshop, who works with the local producers. They also dispatch experienced puppeteers from Sesame Street to train the local puppeteers for each co-production.
I think what is probably best is to have a theme per month, but allow people to do whatever they want with the theme within the time alotted. That should keep things focused and managable.
If people just want to upload or share puppet videos of whatever they want there are already a number of...
What kind of puppet do you want to make? I'm unsure what you mean by "sculpting foam"...are you planning to sculpt a puppet from foam? Or do you want to cut foam patterns and glue them together? In either case if you search the Puppetry forum you'll find losts of information on how to get started.
Well, finally some good news from the Middle-East version of Sesame Street, which has been sidelined by the Isreali-Palestinian conflict for about two years...the Jerusalem Post carried this AP story today:
By ASSOCIATED PRESS
BRUSSELS, Belgium
The EU head office said Monday it is funding...
Not sure what to think of this myself, but I did hear about this a week or so ago from someone on the west coast who got their info from another source prior to the AICN story....they dismissed it at the time as probably a rumour (how many other films have we heard about before?) but now that...
