I do some freelance web design work and always cite MuppetCentral as an example of everything a website designed for a fan base should be.
I've heard that Disney is considering abandoning feature animation (the traditional stuff) which is awful if it's true.
Disney has shut down it's Canadian and European animation studios I think (anyone sure?). They were mostly doing straight-to-video sequels, but also turned out a few...
I somehow missed this thread the first time around...was I reading the initial posts right? Was Getup - who admits to being a pirate/bootlegger/whatever - actually complaining about people ripping off "his work"?
I laughed and I laughed and I laughed some more... ;)
Welcome to the forum Trent! I haven't used the video/kit myself but I've heard nothing but good things about it. It certainly isn't perfect (it won't teach you everything you'll ever need to know) but it is a very good place to start.
Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone know that the City of Toronto (Canada) has announced a Sesame Street event during our WinterCity festival next month. The Sesame Street WinterCity performance is supposed to launch the show's 35th anniversary celebration with a special sing along with Bob...
Has anyone else experienced problems inserting URLs in to posts since we started using the latest version of vBulletin? Specifically, I can't seem to insert URLs at the cursor any more (they end up at the end of the message instead) it won't seem to let me insert more than 1 URL per message (if...
Puppets in Arizona & Toronto this weekend
Not sure if we have any members near Phoenix, but The Great Arizona Puppet Theater is hosting a New Year's Puppet Slam Friday and Saturday, January 2 & 3 at 8:00 pm.
I've never actually made it to a PuppetSlam (I'm trying to get to one in Boston or...
I think that live singing/voice work would be preferred to lip-syncing. In terms of style, the Muppets have always opposed doing lip-sync to pre-recorded tracks since the late 60s (except for musical numbers) so I wouldn't think that would be something they would be looking for. I don't know one...
Just to help clear things up, Dave Elsey and most of his "Farscape" team in Austraila did work on last summer's Episode III shoot, but they did not do the work under the banner of the Creature Shop. They would have been working under ILM, or another branch of Lucasfilm but it was basically the...

I think it's yours so you're hardly an impartial judge! :p
Seriously though, it's great to see someone else trying to do a series on the web but honestly 200+ mb downloads? indeed!
;)
Awhile back we were discussing something (I can't remember what) and someone (I can't remember who) was looking for affordable monster puppets and I said there was a source online, but couldn't remember their URL.
Of course I should have guessed - http://www.monsterpuppets.com/
D'oh! :o
Has anyone else seen this? It's in Japanese, but it's NHK's official homepage for Sesame Street in Japan (basically a dubbed version of the U.S. show).

Tape trading is illegal, if by tape trading you mean making a copy of your copy and giving it to someone else in exchange for a copy of one of their tapes.
What you can do legally is make a personal copy of something for yourself. You can tape a show or movie off TV and in the U.S. you can...
Hey guys,
I found a great little site with the portfolio of James Wojtal, an ex-NY Muppet Workshop builder. In it he has pictures of Bear (which he presumably built or worked on) as well as a pig, some Muppet animals and a few of his own creations.
Check it out -...
Looks like from the price and the large photos on their site that this is the cheaper, lower-quality long fur. It's too bad about the minimum, but I can understand why they do it - it's not cost-effective to sell small amounts.
It's still a great price though! That stuff costs $25 & up here...
I found what looks to be a great web site with lots of shag (long) fur available in a whole assortment of colours! They also have some animal patterns too.
