I think this is a win-win for Pixar, they definately deserve to be out from under Disney's shadow. They also had a very bad, very restrictive deal. I think Disney needs Pixar more than Pixar needs Disney.
I'm also getting a lot of perverse joy out of the mouse learning that they can't push...
OK, I was wrong. They haven't shot this yet. Neil Gaiman posted in his blog today that the JHC is in the process of arranging financing:
The Neverwhere movie project seems to have got new life recently -- the last thing I heard from Lisa Henson was that they had a financier and were working...
Here's another puppet opportunity, this time for someone in England:
I am surrently studying Theatre Design in Wimbeldon School of Art. I am working for my own puppet show at this moment and I need a puppeteer to help me out. This is my final project and will be fun!! My show is based on...
Yup, looks like it's official - come 2006 Pixar is striking out on it's own.

Not sure how this slipped by me, but the Globe and Mail up here ran a detailed article about the Grogs, the guys who created Nana'lan - the Canadian preschool show I'm always raving on about. It's simply one of the most brilliant things to come along since the Muppet Show. I've copied the...
OK, I'm not sure exactly what this is from the email I received about it, but there is some kind of puppet event, festival or happening coming up at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton. The South Florida Puppet Guild (a PofA affliated guild) is involved and they are trying to make it a success so it...
Hi John!
First of all, all foam breaks down over time. The best thing to do to preserve a puppet is store it when it's not being used in sealed container in a cool dry place. I store puppets in clear plastic bags inside Rubbermaid storage bins and I have ten year-old puppets made from regular...
No prob. Honestly, a lot of smaller indie bands don't have a problem with this kind of thing, which is really cool. I think my brother's band Still Life, Still allows this. By tape trading you're basically providing free promotion for the band. But it's always good to ask.
I don't think it's the same director as Greg the Bunny. The series was created by Fraggler Rock/Muppet vetran John Pattison (it's loosely based on his stage show) and I believe most episodes are directed by Steve Western, who does a lot of puppet TV shows here in Canada.
Canada's Treehouse channel is launching a brand new puppet series called "Igloo Gloo" about two baby seals, Snowflake and Snowball, and their adventures south of the Arctic Circle. The series begins airing Feb. 2nd but I'm not sure what time it is on. Treehouse usually runs the same episode(s)...
Yes, that's right - Rocko, Bill, Buttons, and Cuddles are back on TV with 13 new episodes of Puppets Who Kill on Canada's Comedy Network. New episodes begin this week, Friday at 10pm.
As far as I know the show doesn't air outside of Canada yet, so to see what it's all about check out...
Has anyone else heard that the Creature Shop is working on this movie? A site called "Magrathea" has posted some pics of a fitting for Marvin (Warwick Davis). In them he's trying on a prototype costume.
Here's the link ~ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mjs2000/protomarvin.htm
Unfortunately, Neil's blog doesn't seem to have a search feature so I think you probably have to go there, click on "Journal Archives" and these posts should be contained somewhere in his entries from January 4 - 14. I don't recall the exact dates sorry!!
Actually, the entire posts from his...
I don't know of a site that specifically addresses tape-trading Sarah.
There's a couple of legal problems I see with this though:
1) The recordings are bootleg (you didn't get permission to make the recordings). Some bands like Phish encourage fans to make their own tapes at live shows...
Well, I've stated (it's a fact not a suggestion) that yes, it is technically illegaly to reproduce a licensed character.
"Fan art", that is a fan is a fan creating a painting or drawing of a character is sometimes technically copyright infringement and sometimes not. If you've seen Smig's...
