Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

It can be done without disrespect. That is certain. Still, if you study the history of Minstrel Shows and the Amos and Andy radio program, you might understand why some are just a little uncomfortable with the idea.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

I saw that when it first came out. The title makes it sound more adult than it actually is, but yes, the Muppets do cross age barriers, but that does NOT put them in the same class with South Park or Family Guy.

Steve Whitmire has left the Muppets, Matt Vogel to continue as Kermit

The Simpsons is a step above the sick humor of South Park and Family Guy. The Muppets are way above it all.

It has probably made some fans not hear what they don't want to hear. If Steve had resigned instead of gotten fired, I have a feeling a lot more people would be able to hear Jim's Kermit, admire the great job Matt did, and not feel the need to say that it is "no good" or "needs work."

There is and will always be only one Jim. Matt may be the next best thing when it comes to Kermit though.

Welcome back, Jim’s Kermit. You’ve been away too long.

Maybe because Kermit and Ernie always had similar voices with Jim and Steve both?

Well, on that particular video, Kermit sounded closer to Jim's voice than he has in decades.

It doesn't need to change. Fans just need to get reacquainted with the way Jim did the voice. Easy to forget unless you watch a lot of retro.

Nah, they've been dealing with that since the early street days of Big Bird and Oscar.

Matt's Kermit sounds like Jim's Kermit. What are they supposed to tell him? Stop being true to the original character?

Keep doing it the way you did, Matt! It is perfect! People will grow to love Jim's voice once again!

Honestly, I don't see any problem with Matt's performance of Kermit whatsoever. He sounds more like Jim than Steve ever did. No need for any improvement that I can see. He's got it 100%.

Makes sense. I prefer Jim, hence I prefer Matt over Steve.
