Well said, Princeton, and I agree whole heartedly. Elmo is very popular and the kids love him. That is all that matters. He is not "evil" like people keep saying and it really annoys me to hear people say that. The same people that complain about newer characters such as Baby Bear and Zoe...

The only real weak spot of The Music Man remake was Matthew Broderick as Harold Hill. The rest of the cast were well placed, especially Debra Monk as Mrs. Paroo.

Sure, those were early days. Atleast compared to now they were. That is around the time I was born (1981) and started watching. If that is about the time Telly was introduced, then he has been around for approx. 25 years. The show first aired in 1969. That is almost 3 quarters of the SS run.
