I've often wondered this myself, especially since those were instances where the characters weren't used again, and could have been any performer. I wonder if maybe Henson wanted background performers/right-handers to stay silent back then (though I would think it'd be easier to just do a voice...
Actually, it seems like transitions between sketches have been common since the format changed in 2002. Transitions seemed to be a bit common in the early years as well (though I do recall a few instances in the 1990s when segments faded to black).
It would be interesting if they gave out a bazillion free tickets and paid for a bazillion people's travel expenses for a free screening. That'd be a cool way for us all to meet (though even if I happened to win I doubt I'd be able to get off work at that time of year), but it'd probably also...
Muppet Wiki notes that the ending to Born to Add is also cut on Learning to Add and Subtract. It's been a few years since I last saw that video, but I wonder if it's cut the same way on both releases.
I recently watched Born to Add on Hulu, and while it's not too much longer, I feel it sounds...
I have mixed feelings about this. A few days ago it was said that something big about the Muppets was going to be announced, and I honeslty hope that this isn't it. I was hoping for something more along the lines of announcing every tie-in to the movie that we didn't already know about, or an...
I think it's a safe assumption that the opening is what starts the telethon (since we see Kermit in the O of "The Muppet Show Telethon" logo being pulled up like in the opening), but I always thought the redone opening would have been a great way to either start or end the movie (though I think...
A few months ago The Jim Henson Company uploaded a clip from The Secrets of the Muppets on the making of Waldo C. Graphic (I figure Disney owns the character, since he's the chase figure in the second wave of Muppet vinylmation), and a few weeks ago a Kermit clip from Sam and Friends was...
I don't ever remember knowing about The Disney Channel airing The Christmas Toy, but I recently found a Disney Channel spring preview from 1990 on YouTube, which included a section on Henson productions that were going to be on the channel, including quite a few I didn't know aired on the...
I've read about the "Crack Monster" cartoon a few times, and the title sounds odd. The name "Crack Monster" sounds like it should describe a crack-addicted monster.
I had a very sad dream last night. I dreamt there was an official Muppet production where Dr. Teeth officially died, and wasn't brought back from the dead at the end.
Newhart
Dick Loudin - Kermit
Joanna Loudin - Miss Piggy
George Utley - Beauregard (I was tempted to have George the Janitor play George because they share a name, but Bo seems to fit the personality better)
Larry - Floyd
Darryl #1 - Zoot
Darryl #2 - Lips
Michael Harris - Link Hogthrob...
Well you can study how I normally format them. I try as best I can to make it feel like it could have been an actual episode from whatever season it's supposed to be.
This is sad news. After reading the news yesterday, I decided to watch the ending to The Muppet Movie, as well as his Road Runner short Little Go Beep.
I enjoyed all the insight he gave about the making of the ending of The Muppet Movie, as well as his memories of visiting the Sesame Street...
I hope that the site eventually shows a "sneak peek" clip or two from the movie before it comes out. I'd like to see the clips that were shown at the d23, or the refilmed version of the theme song. Or something with the Moopets (so that we can hear their voices and have an idea of who performs...
