Lets remember that Nelson has not completely detatched himself from all Muppet work. He is still doing his stuff on Sesame Street and he will be involved in the new Dark Crystal movie. I am sure he will also be on board for the Fraggle Rock project. He hasn't left us yet.
Yes but there were a couple great close ups of him playing piano and looking right at "the camera" and smiling. Though he sadly didn't speak, it was a wonderful moment.
Okay, I gotcha. It worked for that film, but you are saying that it would be bad if they just used it as an excuse to expose certain characters? Like just throwing in someone for unecessary eye candy.
Bry: Hey, Ed! Come on out and help if you'd like! We are gonna put on some music and start the party when more people show up and everything is set. Hey, Big Bird, would you please hang these streamers across the high beams? Thanks.
So do you think that Big Bird's cameo in The Muppet Movie and/or Oscar's in The Great Muppet Caper were cheap and distracting? I thought they were pretty clever, especially Bird's. Also, with those, there would be no negotiating with Disney, just Sesame Workshop, which probably would not be as...

Bry: Okay, Big Bird and Snuffy, why don't you come down to the pool with me and help set up for Telly and Grover's party.
Big Bird: Okay!
Snuffy: Sure!
Bry: And Rosita, you keep Telly company up here.
Rosita: Okay. Hey, Telly, you...

Well, the only one I was misinformed about was the Elmo's World Holiday thing. Because it was Elmo's World, I foolishly assumed it was only 15-20 mins long like it is on the show.
Bry: Well, it was nice to have Zoe and Elmo over even if it was only overnight.
Big Bird: Yeah, it was fun.
Bry: Hey, Telly...your birthday is in less than an hour. You excited?
Telly: Oh yeah! I'm going to go to sleep so it gets here faster. Night!
Bry: Goodnight, Telly.
Rosita...
