I wonder why puppeteers would need dressing rooms. It's not like the home audience is going to see how they are dressed. Well, unless they were performing full-body characters. I would think maybe there'd be a special room for the performers to relax if needed, but a dressing room would be just...
It's interesting when I read about Jon Stone not liking Caroll Spinney. In Spinney's autobiography, it was written like Spinney could never figure out why he didn't like him. But then in Street Gang, it says that Stone thought Spinney was unprofessional, preferring to not read his scripts until...
When Warner Bros. sold the rights to its black and white shorts in 1955, the classic WB openings and closings had to be replaced until Warner got the rights back (and they also had to remove instances where the logo appears in the cartoons itself, the only ones I know of being in Porky in...
There have been times on Sesame Street where somebody says that asking questions is a good way to find out things, but that's not always true. Sometimes, you could ask, and still not know (how many questions asked in the questions about anything thread have been unanswered?). Maybe you ask...
I might not get an answer here, but it's been on my mind for years... What is the origin of the phrase "up your butt and around the corner"? When I was a kid we said it all the time (I first remember hearing the phrase in sixth grade), I still use that phrase constantly (and not just to ask...
I wonder if there should be a similar "all purpose" thread in the General Discussions forum, for non-Henson franchises and shows.
I know that in the Sesame Street thread the eras are categorized by "Gold", "Silver", "ruby", "copper", and "what comes after copper"... But for some properties...
I didn't realize there was a PVC set until I saw it pointed out on the Tough Pigs forum (it was mentioned in a Muppet Mindset article about Muppets Most Wanted merchandise, but I somehow missed that part).
Do you seriously not know what the superbowl is, or were you joking? Are you from a country other than America? The Superbowl is the football finale championship game of the year, perhaps the biggest football event all year. In fact people make as big a deal out of the commercials that air...
When a character on a TV show stops appearing, usually one of three things happens:
1. They have a goodbye episode, showing why they will no longer be seen regularly (if they ever return at all).
2. They don't get a goodbye episode but their absence is explained or acknowledged (does it count as...
I decided to make a similar thread about the Jim Henson Company timeline (and my post took me longer to write than my Sesame Street one): http://www.muppetcentral.com/forum/threads/a-breakdown-of-the-jim-henson-company-timeline.56766/#post-1092635
A few months ago there was a similar thread regarding the Sesame Street timeline, but I feel it might be fun to do a similar one regarding the timeline of The Jim Henson Company. I put this in the General Discussions because I couldn't determine what Henson Company folder it would be most...
Is there a thread listing all non-Henson TV shows, franchises, and properties that have their own threads in the General Discussions forum? It might be hard to find and compile all of them, but would be good to know what all already has its own thread (so that people don't accidentally start a...
I read that the first draft of this book was 700 pages long, before it was shortened to 585 (and that's counting the notes and indexes, which the original draft probably didn't have). It makes me wonder what all was cut... I wonder if the original draft covered everything Jim did, or what all...
So there's a new segment where Grover teaches "force", and ends up needing help from a few monsters.... This would have been a great opportunity to use Herry. Then again, if Herry helped, they probably wouldn't have continued struggling.
And on the plus side, Frazzle made a return...
One thing that's great is that this book briefly confirms why Caroll Spinney stopped performing Anything Muppets after the first two seasons (the book says he stopped after the first season.... Technically, that's not incorrect, since after the second season is still after the first).
I wonder if existing ones will be rereleased, repacked under "Muppets Most Wanted". It'd be weird if there will only be two in stores. Or are the existing ones still available (I know Palisades normally only released figures to stores once, though I also know there were occasions when they made...
I think that a special "45th anniversary opening" should have a mix of new footage and existing footage. Clips can appear on a screen-within-a-screen (don't know what it would be called), which would take care of any full screen/widescreen concerns.
Good clips to include in a montage in the...
