What's that you say, Leyla posting in this thread?
Couldn't be...
Then...who?
-----------------------------------------------------
Nearly an hour later, Piggy was walking again. Some of her equilibrium was restored though the wistful melancholy had not yet released her entirely from its...
Ooh, great job everybody! Just to keep things fresh, I thought it might be good to post another challenge. Not to say you can still post for the old challenge if you'd like.
So this one, which Beau came up with, is:
A Game of One-upmanship with an unexected victor.
"You're SO romantic"...
<Leyla returns from answering a knock at the door>
Lisa: Who was it?
Leyla: Oh, it was Ed, just checking to make sure this wasn't an unauthorized invasion while Ru's away.
Lisa: Ah. Is it?
Leyla: <giggles> No, I'm roomie sitting. Someone's gotta keep Fozzie eating Kermit and Piggy PG.
Lisa...
<Lisa and Leyla are settled comfortable at Room 20's kitchen table, listening to the faint sounds of chaos around them.>
Leyla: Oh no, no, she forgave him for that little gaffe with Camilla. But I tell you, the fur... well... not fur...feather boas, maybe, are gonna fly when Piggy finds out...
<Jimmy, heedess of the fact that he is now on the floor covered by a Gonzo and a teenaged boy continues singing orders>
Leyla: Hmm... well, at least someone's willing to defend my honour. Hey Lisa, would you like to go out for popcorn and rice krispy squares while the boys settle this?
<Jimmy bursts in abruptly>
Jimmy: Did ah hear someone infringin' on mah copyrights?<
<Leyla bolts in after him> Oh, excuse me guys. Congrats Prawnie... JIMMY! What are you doing!
Jimmy: Ahm protectin' mah personal properties, that's what.
Leyla: Shel Siverstein wrote that poem, not you...
<shivers> Oh, that's not any easier to read the second time through... just chilling Lisa... gosh... how very awful. I like the detail of Kermit's grip leaving a dent, and the fact that Bob called him right away. They certainly understand each other... and Kermit really needs that... someone who...
So... what's all this about? Drabbles!
Beau nd I were having a little chat about writer's block today and in trying to cope with it, we drifted onto the subject of drabbles.
What, you may ask, is a drabble?
Well, I'm glad you asked!
A drabble is a piece of writing one hundred words in...
<stares>
<continues to stare>
(You'd think I hadn't seen this before.)
<stares a bit more>
<tries to remember words>
What...
What was that language I used to speak?
Hmm...well, I see to have found it again, whatever it is... and whoever I am.
... and people think I'm ushy gushy...
Oh, wow! Oh... that's SO exciting! What a positive development... I'm especially excited about the idea of it being a mini-series leading up to the show... that's not a half-hearted effort... that's planning, and, in my opinion... admittedly, my optimistic, uninformed opinion, it's planning for...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH!!! LISA!!!!!
Love it, love it! Love the precious Robin time, and the ushy gushy Piggy time and Fozzie, for reasons that he probably doesn't entirely understand himself, checking up on them.
There's so many different kinds of love in Kermits life, and in this scene... and its...
CLIIIIIIIIIIFFFFFORD!!!!!!!!
Gasp! Wow! I didn't see that one coming! And yeesh! What's gotten into Uncle Deadly!
Awesome chapter Prawnie, really very funny, right up until the end there which I really didn't anticipate at all! LOVED the marriage line, from both parties. Just hysterical...
Well, regarding Kermit being nice to Piggy... that's a part of his character. Kermit growls, snips, and snarks at the muppets around him... and often, hey, no wonder! They drive him CRAZY! But you know, deep down, he loves them, all of the insane members of his family, and always will, no matter...
Hum de dee de dee....
Beau update! WHEE!!! This is news of extreme awesomeness!
Ah, so, what do I like about this story? Well, for one, it's so very unique, at least of the muppet stories I've read on this board. The world without Kermit... continuing once Kermit learns his lesson and goes...
For the record, I loved the last chapter with Prawnie, Lisa and Beau and Kermit and Croaker. Loved the teasing, the in-jokes and Kermit's distraction.
And goodness knows Lisa knows that I got a kick out of the squabbling!
I love how Kermit's seeing everything in a whole new light... just...
<cough>
<bluuuush>
<cough>
Um... well! Lisa, I have to point out that you forgot that classic disclaimer... Any similarity to Piggy fangirls living or dead is entirely coincidental.
<Veerrrrry shifty eyes>
Anyway... yes... discombobulated...entirely so, and I'm not yet recovered...
Oh, how lovely and atmospheric, Prawnie! And what a wonderful idea to base it off of Vic's amazing artwork... and for me, it's an extra treat, ushy gushy girl that I am (like you didn't know) to see the fruition of some of Vic's other ideas... including that ballroom scene.
I do believe this...
<closes eyes> Yeah... there's... there's just no way to soften a blow like that... but, you're right Prawnie... Lisa's suffering just as much as we are... maybe more so, since, like the frog, she's got a guilty conscience. It IS shocking... makes me feel cold, and stunned... and wounded, right...
