One thing I often wonder, if something like this were to be done: Would/should they include one episode from each represented season, or skip at least one season and include multiple episodes from one of those seasons?
Season three has a number of really notable episodes (Linda moving to...
I read that when Jerry Beck appeared on Stu's Show yesterday, he confirmed that the Rocky and Bullwinkle short is still coming out later this year, only with a different movie (I think it's the movie that the short that comes with Mr. Peabody and Sherman is related to).
Since Ryan has already seen Muppets Most Wanted, I wonder if Constantine will appear in Weekly Muppet Wednesday before or after the movie comes out. It would be cool to see him included next week, but then again, there could be spoiler-y stuff about him that the article might feel incomplete...
According to Muppet Wiki, the reason Mirror Mask was produced was because Sony wanted to make a sequel to Labyrinth, but Lucasfilm had partial ownership of the film, so Sony instead asked Henson to make a different fantasy film. Last I checked, the Muppet Wiki page didn't cite any sources, but...
I've only read this part once, but it seems the book says that David Lazer talked Jim Henson into doing The Great Muppet Caper before The Dark Crystal, by convincing ITC to agree to fund The Dark Crystal if they did another Muppet movie.
This gets me wondering if Jim Henson let Tri-Star...
The "park segments" take place in a park. Very few of them have aired on the American show, though I've heard that Steve Whitmire and Eric Jacobson do perform them in these segments, with the voices dubbed in later.
I know I've mentioned most of these in other threads, but I might as well list them here as well...
Munchkinland Song from The Wizard of Oz:
Correct lyric: "We represent/the lollipop guild/the lollipop guild..."
Misheard lyric: "We represent/the lollipop kids/the lollipop kids..."
"We're...
Tracey Ullman's "They Don't Know".
I hadn't heard that song until last week, and didn't know that Tracey Ullman was a singer. Then I heard she was a one-hit wonder, and wondered how a one-hit wonder got her own show, let alone two. But then I heard that she had a few more hits.
Lately, there have been times when I was on the Mindset and saw an article, but then when I looked at the article later that day (usually moments later), it was gone, sometimes replaced with another article, though that previous article did come back a few days later. Last week I noticed this...
Yesterday I read the full summary at wikipedia (I still plan to see the movie, wouldn't be the first time I read the wikipedia summary before seeing the film) and there are a number of interesting things I was surprised by or didn't really think about. I guess TV Tropes will have...
I used to think that the Kit Kat Bar jingle went, "Gimmie a rake! Gimmie a rake! Rake me off a pizza that Kik Kat Bar!"
And yeah, I thought it was "rake me off a pizza that...", meaning to rake off a pizza, as opposed to a way of saying "piece of".
And thought "rake me off a pizza that...
So if Mahna Mahna isn't actually "flanderized" with saying his own name and doing performances and parodies of his song, then would the string quartet and Sax and Violence sketches count more as "early installment weirdness"/"characterization marches on"?
Another movie I like but everyone hates is It's Pat. I find it a very funny movie. TV Tropes mentions this in its "so bad it's horrible" page. That page mentions things like the sketches not being that funny in the first place (I haven't seen many of the original SNL sketches, but the ones I've...
Quite a few things about The Wonder Years episode "Walk Out"...
During the first Home Room Council meeting, the students all suggest things that would interest most kids. One kid suggests the walk-out, to protest the war, and none of the other students are interested in the walk out until he...
