It was the Connie Stevens episode (first or second season) if I'm not mistaken. I never saw this one myself, but I've read of it here and on other forums.
I did however see the Big Bird's appearance with Leslie Uggams. I'll never forget the part where he's talking to Miss Piggy backstage and...
I can only name ONE??
Here's one that immediately comes to mind:
One featured a musical number with Kermit as a patient in a hospital bed. It starts with Kermit, being visited by a doctor who is just leaving as he tells Kermit to get some rest. As soon as the doctor leaves, this funky music...
There was a reason for that. Big Bird's character was originally conceived as that of a goofy, clown-like dim-witted adult. But that soon changed -- by the third season -- when his performer Caroll Spinney developed a different feel for him and thought he would be better with a child-like...
This is a question I've been meaning to ask for some time and it has to do with the performers and their involvement or non involvement in various muppet featured productions (though my questions basically are centered around the 'big three': The Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock) -...
...No not the amusement park, the TV show :-)
For those that don't know, "Sesame Park" is/was the Canadian version of Sesame Street that the CBC has aired since about 1995 or 96. But for many years before that the CBC aired a "Canadianized" version of the U.S show, which was basically the...
Here's a Harvey Kneeslapper one that's on the seventh season premiere (1975):
"Fat Blue" (was that REALLY his name) watches Harvey Kneeslapper bouncing around happily on a pogo stick.
FB: Hey, that pogo stick looks like fun!
HK: It sure is! Wanna try?
FB: Oh I'd love too!
HK: What...
Well Mike... I guess anyone over the age of five is technically "too old" for Sesame Street, but anyone over that age can come up with an excuse for watching it if they really want to, but there comes a time in life where you stop caring about other peoples opinions on certain things. It's like...
Ditto. And can I remember the time I entered first grade and started getting flak from my parents and peers for still watching it, even if I was only watching it because of the muppets. I think I finally managed to kick the habit when I was about eight - around the same time the episode...
Several times. While I can't think of a specific episode or occasion right now, I know off the top of my head that she was a "peripheral" character on the Muppet Show -- meaning you'd see her in the background in any skit or musical number that had animals in it.
Beautiful Day was on Sesame Street, at least in the early days. Though I only recall seeing him in the filler skits and not in street scenes. One such skit that really stands out in my memory is one where Kermit is sitting on a wall beside the letter 'B' and is demonstrating how its sounded out...
LOL!
Thanks!
I searched high and low for a good colour photo of Beautiful Day Monster to use as an avatar, and when I did I made a few alterations to it with PhotoShop. Of all the lesser known muppet characters, Beautiful Day is a favourite of mine because he's one of the few muppets along...
OK since I don't know much about TVLand, enlighten me: Is it a channel that's now widely available as a part of basic cable that you don't need to pay for? Or is it a specialty channel only available to DTH or Cable subscribers -- meaning people are paying to receive this programming and...
Really? So he's been performing the Count in those new sequences where he plays the organ to find out the number of the day? I saw a few of those not long ago and I thought the Count's voice sounded different and thought someone else was probably performing him now. Not that it would...
Not a bad idea! I don't know why this hasn't been done. In fact if you want to know the truth, as I was typing the post above, I thought to myself that this is an idea that's just so obvious to me and considering that there's now specialty channels for just about every genre and interest you can...
I should also add that there's a few reasons I can think of as to why a CTW channel is unlikely to become a reality either: First of all CTW dosen't exist anymore, they've been Sesame Workshop for some time now, which is pretty wise since Sesame Street is the only show they're producing these...
I believe there WAS some sort of petition started for that purpose a while ago, but I think the most signatures it got (including mine)was something like just under two hundred and that's nowhere near the amount needed for a petition like this to have effect. 10,000 or more signatures and...
I do remember him. But like a lot of others, I wouldn't have remembered him only for his small profile in "Sesame Street Unpaved" (the book, not the TV show) under the "Whatever Happened To..." section where they explained the percisely his head banging antics that made him so notorious, was...
