WHAT? Why, you miserable lowlife! I'll make sure that you... oh no, I'm up for eviction, too! (pulls a cellphone out of his suitcase)
Mr. Bush, you've got to get me out of this! (pause) The line went dead. Strange...
The myth is the Philosopher's Stone. But, I guess the States' publisher must have thought that 1) they didn't know what the Philosopher's Stone was, and 2) they wouldn't care if the name was changed. I own both the US and Canadian copies, and the title and cover aren't the only things changed...
Well, that wasn't the reaction I intended, but then again, I'm used to my father, and you could blow off his left hand and he wouldn't even break a sweat (imagine the Black Knight in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"- "Just a flesh wound!"). But hey, it was a great story, and I can't wait for...
OK, I just finished reading this... well, what do I call it? It was written in 20 chapters, and easily trumps any fan-fic posted here before. So perhaps I should call it an E-book. I swear to God, you could make a movie out of this and nobody would know it was begun as a fan-fic. Nobody would...
Now there are three good things about this post:
1) It marks the return of Convincing John, who I haven't seen in a while, and have missed.
2) It made my laugh my butt off.
3) Well, visit this site and you'll understand: www.randi.org.
Happy birthday, O great one! You've made us laugh with Gonzo, made us worry with Bunsen, and made us say "Hey, that's my mother!" with Boober. Long may you... um... Muppeteer.
Pretty good looking figures, but a couple of disappointments. The pupils in Ernie's eyes are a tad too far north for my taste (didn't they have the same problem with Rowlf?) and Big Bird's head looks flattish. Other than that, I love 'em! Guy Smiley looks pretty good, THM looks like himself...
Today: I now know even more what you're going through, Ziffel and DS. The heat **** near killed me today when I went out for a little walk. I emptied three Pepsis so far, and I expect to be having more in the short six hours before I hit the sack.
Breakfast: Pop-Tart, iced tea.
Lunch: Meat...
Yeah, we have "Philosopher's Stone" in Canada as well. Scholastic must have thought most Americans were real idiots to have changed the name (and, for that matter, the cover)!
Well, I don't have a whole lot of fears, but I do have two main ones: death of someone close to me, and Manson-ish killers. I couldn't give a (BLEEP) about what happens to me, but my mother's in this house, and if somebody tried to do something like that to her... well, let's just say it...
You won't believe this, but I used to. At one point I had "Best of Bert and Ernie" (or whatever it's called) on CD, but I sold it a couple of years back (before I really got into the Muppets.) I'll see what I can dig up for you, though.
