I tell you what. This is a lot of hard work! Back breaking labor to be exact! I finally just about finished my cutting table. All I have left is to build a fabric rack like the one Iokitek spoke of. I've been moving cabinets around and knocking down old walls to make room for everything. Sweat...
Each puppet is different but I did glue feathers in on one of my puppets with hot glue. What I did was to map out the area I wanted the feathers to go to before I put the fur over the foam. I threaded the feather into a needle and I used my Aleen's Ultimate glue gun just as Blink was saying and...
I understand that this is just the properties of Antron fleece but it would be really nice if the pile of the fleece didn't put off so easily. Thats really the only thing I don't like about it. The old Antron and new do that. You can almost wipe it off the backing with your hand. I understand...
Ok. Now I found out that it is way too hot in my attic to build puppets. The contact cement comes apart in the heat so now I have decided that the wood working tools ( i.e. bandsaw, drill press, table saw, grinder, scrollsaw, beltsander, ect...) will be used in the attic and my glue station will...
This is the first I've seen of the 12oz stuff. I can definately see the benefit of having available both weights. I would most likely use this lighter antron for people I think. I could pick the seam out just as easy as with the old fleece. I haven't tried a dye yet since I really don't think I...
Yes I am happy with what I got for "Nelley". I've always heard you rarely get even near what something is worth on Ebay but I got pretty close to what I would charge if someone just ordered it from me plus had the excitment of the auction.
anyone interesteed in a Puppet similar to "Nelley" or maybe you'd like a different creation, send me an email at puppet_builder@yahoo.com I'll send a price based on what your looking for.
P.S. I don't do replicas of other peoples work. ie. Henson
Anyone who would like a "Nelley" or any other design of puppet, please contact me at puppet_builder@yahoo.com . I will give you a price based on the design. Sorry I haven't got a web site designed yet.
That was about the most fun! I have never seen anything on ebay shoot up like that before. I was kinda worried earlier today thinking I should have started the bid higher and thinking I was gonna seriously lose out on this ebay thing but how incredibly quick it climbed in the last couple hours...
Thanks Foz and Telley,
I'll be making many more puppets and since this auction went so well I'm gonna sell some on ebay from time to time as well. Although I am working on getting my own web site.
Actually I made the eyes out of a racket ball cut in half. I painted them white and the pupils are vinyl material used to make bumper stickers out of. I have a whole punch that makes little circles and I cut the white glares out before I put them on with a blade. I used craft foam for the lashes...
WOW! Your kidding. Was it that bad? I mean I know its not exactly original or anything but its my first monster. 60 people have looked at this thread and not a single comment. Is the link I put in working? I really could use the feedback
I apologize. I didn't explain myself well. I didn't mean I paid Dave $1000 for him to train me at the festival. The cost I was refering to was the quote for him to come to Hanover, PA. and have a 3 or 4 day workshop. Dave just told me that because of the great interest he has received since I...
