Great description, Phil! I remember one of the Muppety record covers was the 1977 TMS album. I lit up at that, remembering that I had the British version (they showed the US version).
How about the monster segment and when the gang sings "Rainbow Connection"? What do you guys think of those...
Can you remember any of the Muppets you remember seeing at the exhibit?
I only know of:
Kermit in his director's chair
Miss Piggy
The Electric Mayhem
Big Bird and the rest of the Sesame Street Gang
The early Kermit and the Sam and Friends cast
The SNL Muppets
Emmet and Ma Otter in a...
GREAT OUTLINE!!! I especially enjoy "The Money Song", since I'm a big Monty Python fan myself! I see that the Muppets who appear with Rowlf in that scene are all Whatnots in international costumes (think the Spike Milligan episode).
BlueAM
I'm glad you liked it!
I was wonderin' if you could touch the fabrics and stuff in the "touch wall" they had there and if you took pictures unless, that is, they allowed you to.
BlueAM
I think that the dullard should go under "Dullard Muppet", while the hipster was, I believe, the "Purple Hipster", since Same Sound Brown is the little brown AM.
In the case of the Four Dragons, there was a storyteller (lavender AM), the Emperor (also lavender), the Emperor's son who was also...
What puppets do you remember seeing?
Also, I went to the Vision of Jim Henson exhibit in Pittsburgh some years ago. It was GREAT! I LOVED seeing puppets of Mahna Mahna, Prairie Dawn, and some Anything Muppets, to name just a few.
BlueAM
I like the Anything Muppets, so many of my favorite songs feature them. Also, it's hard to pick only ten, since I have many favorites. But, oh well, here they are:
I Just Adore 4 (I love the three male AM backup singers because the Guy Smiley-esque one looks an AWFUL LOT like Peter Sellers in...
I have a neat little story with a happy ending to tell you.
In 1999, I first went on Muppet Central. I read the news article about the SS trailer, "Don't Forget to Watch the Movie", at Loews Theaters. I tried to download it but, sadly, I couldn't do it because it was no longer there. All I...
In "I'm So Lonely", do you remember what that character of Jerry's and gospel singers looked like. Please give me full descriptions and do the best you can.
Thanks!
BlueAM
Joggy, I wanna know:
Can you give me full descriptions of what the hipster and dullard in that skit looked like? Be sure to tell me what AMs they were, nose color and shapes, how you would describe their eyes, hair color, and clothes.
Thanks for your help, Joggy!
BlueAM
Travelling Matt, I have a question:
Do you remember what Jack Be Nimble looks like? Tell me what type of AM he was, nose color and shape, description of eyes, hair color, and clothes. Thanks!
BlueAM
LOTS of stuff scared me as a kid.
SS:
Placido Flamingo (like most of you guys)
The Martians ("Yiiiip yip-yip-yip!")
Humpty Dumpty
Cookie Disco (sung by Cookie Monster and the Girls, of course!)
The Count Counts Flowers (I didn't like the way he sneezed in that skit)
Frazzle (I...
Two more clarifications, Count:
There is a Sesame Muppet called Gina (not the human, of course) on your list. You obviously mean Deena Monster and since she's listed, delete the Muppet Gina from your list.
In addition, by "Convincing John's Back-Up Singers", you mean the Fraggeles or...
GREAT JOB, COUNT!! Luv your list!
First, a few clarifications:
1. It should be Ferlinghetti Donizetti, not Donizetti Ferlenghetti.
2. In TMM, Professor Krassman was played by Mel Brooks, not Sid Caesar.
Here are some more characters you should add:
The Eight Balls of Fur (from...
I know this has nothing to do with the discussion, Karen, but I'd like to tell you that I appreciate your work for Henson.
Also, do you remember what specific characters you performed in "A Muppet Family Christmas" other than Red and Maureen the Mink?
Also, could you write down your...
I happen to know some more thin yellow characters. They are:
Nelson (from "When I'm Calling U"), Captain Breakfast (NOT Captain Vegetable, of course!), Monty ("Watermelons and Cheese"), and the Pied Piper.
And yes, Vincent Twice, Vincent Twice IS this type of AM.
More fat blue: Fat...
SillyJoeBob, I have a few questions:
What does Billy Idle look like? He obviously wears punk clothes and has blond hair, but I want to know what specific AM he is, what color and shape his nose is, and what his eyes are like.
Also, what does Nora Nicks (who introduces Nick Normal's band)...
JediX: I hope things have gotten better for you since your last writing... Your offer sounds great. It's very kind of you to make a copy for me but let me know the cost and I will gladly get that to you.
As Latka would say, "Tankyouveddymuch!"
