Oh gosh most of my favourite Sesame skits are 90s ones. Here's a few of my top favourites:
Song - Anyone's Nose (it's pure Gold, and just the way I like to hear Cole Porter's music)
Song - I Can Sing Anything When I Sing With You (it just sums two great singing-puppeteers up perfectly)...
Sometimes in these days where so called comedy seems to contain so much smut, obscenity, and violence, it can make one long for the good clean innocent harmless fun of things like The Muppets, and Morecombe and Wise. Where jokes would so often be based around innocent “misunderstandings” which...
The song 'Light Will Make It Bright' is indeed from the Television Series (not a movie) 'The Secret Life Of Toys. The lyrics were written by Jerry Nelson.
As for not recognising Ms Gold's voice in that number, well I must confess that, although I'm quite a fan of Ms Gold's, when I first...
Hmm favourite background.
I'm not sure whether Annie Sue counts as background, I mean she was sort of boarderline being a fairly notable character in her own right in some episodes (Leo Sayer in particular). However, if we're including her as background then yes she's gotten be on my list...
So far I haven't found 'The Answer lady' skit. But while looking for it I've just discovered that 'Anyone's Nose' is on the Sesame site. - How wonderful! - I consider Anyone's Nose to be just one of Louise's finest performances.
I've been having a bit of a clear-out, and have just put a small collection of Muppet items on Ebay see item No: 160293165190. This includes BT phone cards.
I've also got some non-Muppet things, up, if anyone is interested.
Having not heard it myself, I don't know, but it's probable. Well she would certainly have been working on TMS at that time, and seems to have often been teamed with Jerry Nelson singing a song. But I haven't heard it, so this is just supposition.
I've been having a hunt on the Sesame official site for clips on which Louise Gold performed, so far I've found:
The Cooperation song: http://www.sesamestreet.org/video_player?p_p_lifecycle=0&p_p_id=videoPlayer_WAR_sesameportlets4369&p_p_uid=da2de748-156e-11dd-bb51-597ab51d2e81, Frazzle...
I am in total agreement there.
She's something very special with that glorious versatile voice of hers. It makes her performances whether as a puppeteer or an actress really something.
It was her singing voice that first caught my attention some fourteen years ago, and I guess in many...
I am trying to compile as complete a list as I can of Louise Gold's Sesame Street credits, see: http://www.qsulis.demon.co.uk/Website_Louise_Gold/Sesame_Street.htm
I was wondering if any of the longstanding/series fans who have a handle on this, perhaps you could take a look at the list I've...
It's an interesting point in developing a well rounded convincing believable character. Would Oscar actually be that convincing if he didn't occassionally show a less grouchy side?
For a character, even a nasty one to work, there has to be something that drives them, that motivates them. And...
Actually, if you are just wanting to watch vintage classic Sesame skits, then there are quite a few around, and in some cases legitimately. if you have a good trawl through Sesame Street's official site: http://www.sesamestreet.org/home and in particular the "videos" section...
I've just spent the best part of an afternoon browsing both YouTube and Sesame's official site. I'd no idea there was so much around.
This is WONDERFUL, sincerely wonderful. I really hope that Sesame Street are sensible about co-operating with fans, and understanding that the reason fans put...
Hmm I'd never thought of Louise as being one of them. She's not listed on sleeve notes for Born To Add as being in that pice, but then neither is Kevin Clash. Both are on Born To Add of course doing specific parts, though (Louise doing her classic 'I Am Chicken'). Since the piece dates to 1992 I...
When I was a kid my mother didn't really approve of Sesame Street, I don't know why (I don't think my mum remembers why either).
However, when I went to university, I got throughly into Muppet online forums, and prompted partly by that, and partly by a fondness for musical theatre, started...
Hmm interesting.
I must say I agree if the puppeteer is good at their job, then having them visable is just fine and in some ways enhances the performance, allowing one to appreciate just how good they are at their job, such that one doesn't really notice them. Likewise if they are good at it...
In the John Denver episode of TMS, there's a lovely moment where Annie Sue says
"Mr Kermit Sir, when we get to the swamp wold you give me a swimming lesson?"
I can't remember exactly how Kermit replied, but...
