Check out this photo of Jim and Jane from the Sam and Friends era. His face looks pretty ravaged.
I just thought it was an interesting thing to know because it adds a layer of humanity not many people know about to the master. It's also strangely comforting to know, too. I struggled with bad...
I heard somewhere once that Jim Henson's primary reason for growing a beard was to hide his acne scars. I know it's stupid and trivial at best, but is this true at all?
"Music Makes Us Real" from "Mokey and the Minstrels". Hearing Cantus' voice, even just in my head, helps me not be so stressed-out. Work was pretty insane today, as Saturday is the biggest day for product demos.
Personally, I'd have to go with Brool, the one who plays what looks like a bass. I love how he's this furry, hulking cave monster with fangs, and then when you hear him sing in "Mokey and the Minstrels", his voice is so sweet and lilting.:)
If you had to pick a second-favorite Minstrel, who...
Jim actually performed the character who sang that song! Adds a whole new level of poignancy to it, I think --- he didn't know then how little time he would have.
 Thank you both so much! *sniff* You have no idea how much this makes my day! :D
For the record, I just talked to my boyfriend, and he's feeling a lot better now. He thinks he'll be up to hanging out tomorrow. I just told him this morning to rest and get better, and that would be his...
...and I made a doll that looked like Janice, which I tried to link here, but it didn't work. So now I'd like to delete this post, which I haven't been able to figure out how to do. Anyone know?
…would you try to save Jim?
My boyfriend and I were watching his final public interview (May 4, 1990, Arsenio Hall Show) on YouTube, and he posed that "if we had a time machine, went back to that day, flew out to Hollywood, rented a car and bought a gun and some ski masks, we could kidnap him...
Just something I was thinking about the other day. From what we've seen in the show, Fraggles can read, write, and presumably do basic math. They had to have learned it somewhere. Is it something they learn in their homes as they grow up, or do they actually go somewhere to learn it? To me...
Thanks, Alex! Exactly the way it looks, then!:)
You see, I come from Southern Michigan (read: Lutheran country), and learned early on that the “oe” phoneme in German names can be pronounced like a long A, as in Matt Groening. That’s probably why I wasn’t sure how to say it.
When I read the part about Mokey's choice for the ritual, or lack thereof, I immediately thought "Janken!":)
You write about Fraggle love as being so much more beautiful and pure than our own. The Fraggle Five are so close and have such a deep respect for one another that they formed a family...
Apparently this is a little screwball comedy from 1985, directed by John Landis and starring Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Pfeiffer. It also features a truckload of cameos.

This is part 5 of the movie. It's not the best quality, but...
Pedley! I agree, he is a very cool, very attractive Fraggle. He reminds me so much of the art students at the college I went to. If Pedley were human, he'd no doubt be into indie rock and wear skinny jeans.
Nice! Which one, though --- borderline-sexy, suede jacket-wearing '70s version or...
Well, he is the first Fraggle to actually live among Silly Creatures. And it's very probable that many people would be mystified and filled with wonder when they first met him. It's more fitting than you'd think!:)
Sorry for the two posts in succession. I wanted to put Fragglemuppet's and...
You are correct, fragglemuppet!:) I've always wanted to write a backstory for him, detailing how he began his journey as a Minstrel and the experiences that made him who he is. If natural violet eyes are as rare in Fraggledom as they are in our world, they'd be a sign that the violet-eyed...
If I were a Fraggle, I'd probably first try to become a Minstrel. Of course, this would never fly, because Cantus can't be fooled --- he'd know right away that my main motivation for joining the Minstrels is so I can follow him around.:coy:
So instead, I'd probably take care of younger...
That's right! I really like that picture, slackbot. He doesn't look too pleased.:D
I always personally imagined that Gobo would have brown eyes, with maybe a few flecks of gold. Red would have bright green eyes to go with her red hair, and Mokey would have pretty turquoise eyes. Wembley...
