So I tuned in to SS today. It was the episode where Cookie Monster gets cookie fever. Anyway, there was a sketch with Diane Sawyer and she sings a song with Elmo called "Song for Two." Then Zoe comes in and it becomes "Song for Three." Then the duck joins in and you guessed it..."Song for...
Anyone know any reasoning as to why Luis and Maria's business changed from a Fix-It Shop to a Mail-It Shop? There's got to be some reason for it, couldn't just be for the heck of it.
I wanted to start a thread to discuss character's debut episodes or introduction episodes. When did the characters first appear and what was the sketch/premise? How were they introduced? This is for Muppet characters and human cast members.
I will start by asking...
Do you remember the...
Oscar has had some pretty interesting relationships with the other characters on the Street. He always had a special "pet name" for so many of the others:
Big Bird: "The Big Canary," "Big Yellow Turkey"
Gordon: "Chrome Dome"
Elmo: "Little Red Menace"
Bob: "Blue Eyes"
Maria: "Skinny"...

Incidentally, today is also my mother's 50th. She was born on the same day our Magic Kingdom opened its gates. :)
I know I should be putting this in the Puppetry thread, but I thought I would get more response here. i was just curious as to how they operate characters like Beaker, Pepe and Rizzo. Their mouths are much different then the others and they seem a bit more complicated technically. Also, Rizzo...
I was just thinking about where everyone lives around Sesame Street. I know that Gordon and Susan and Maria and Luis all live in the 123 building. Of course, Big Bird is in his own nest area, Oscar lives in the trashcan, Snuffy has a cave, and The Count lives in his castle outside of Sesame...
Okay, so I stopped by Toys R Us today to look around just for kicks and giggles when I noticed on the shelf a couple of Muppet figures. The only characters they had were a Frog Scout Robin and a bunch of Beauregards. They were on sale so I figured I would buy them both. The total was only $12...
Do any of you remember the episode where Shari Lewis and Lambchop visit Sesame Street? I vaguely remember but there was a song that they sang. What was it? Was it a version of "How Do You Do"?
I was saw a kid talk segment today with a goofy looking bright orange monster with a shaggy beard was talking to a little girl about dancing. Who is this monster character? I don't remember ever seeing him before. I wish I had a picture to show but my description will have to do for now...
Hi I was over at the Palisades forum reading some stuff about the figure line ups and they kept using the word "teir" or something like that. What does this mean? Also, I am hearing things about a specific method to putting out these characters for the Sesame Street line. Something about how...
Hey, guys! I didn't know where to ask this question so I decided this would be the best place, in the General Discussion forum. I have a bunch of old Sesame Street tapes that have some great songs on them, some of which have never been released in CD format. I was wondering if there was any...
I just caught some of today's episode and Bert and Ernie did a sketch where they sang the "pat your head, rub your tummy" song. They must have gotten hair cuts or something because their hair looked significantly shorter and less shaggy than usual. Thought it was funny.
More and more I am thinking I want to add just a few more characters to my Muppets collection other than Sesame Street. I know I keep saying I just want to focus on SS, but I already have Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and the chickens, and there are a few other characters that I am especially fond of...
So I was just watching The Great Muppet Caper and just realized something. Where are Sam and Lips during the Baseball Diamond rescue? Anyone else ever think about this? I mean, I can understand why Sam wouldn't join them, but why wouldn't Lips be there, especially when the rest of the EM are?
I was just curious what is the best way to keep the figures clean. I have all my new figures still in their packages til I am ready to display, and I have the Fozzie that I have had for a while waiting on the shelf for his pals to join him, but he has gotten kinda dirty and I wanted to clean...
Rosita is one of my all time favorite Muppets today and is definitely my favorite "newer" character to Sesame Street. I wanted to create a thread dedicated to her, because I feel she needs to be discussed a little more.
I think that Rosita represents everything the Sesame Street Muppets are...
Do any of you recall a character named Monty, and if yes, what can you tell me about him? I remember the name, but anything about the character has slipped my memory and I just recently heard the name somewhere. This has been bugging me for the last couple days. I can't figure out who he is...
