    12 Days fo Christmas

It's been a long time since I've heard this version, but I think it's Robin. Also, isn't the 8th day sung by Rowlf (who obviously sounds like Dr. Teeth)?? This version must different than the one that opens the John Denver and Muppets Christmas special. I'm pretty sure Statler & Waldorf...

Mister Rogers Music on Muppet Central Radio

Very well said, Phil. The shows are always linked in my mind too. Personally, I think it's cool that a few Mr. Rogers' songs are sprinkled in. After all, you probably won't hear more than 6-8 minutes worth of non-Muppet stuff daily unless you somehow listen to it 24 hours a day.

Sesame Street and the NBA--It's FANtastic!

I'm not sure if anyone else has posted on this, but there's a new (at least I've never seen it before) NBA commercial featuring a bunch of Sesame characters. It was on during the Soncis-Pistons game on ESPN tonight. The commercial splices in NBA clips with comments from the Count, Elmo, Super...

TV shows that drive you crazy!

Fair enough--even it is. Besides, it's not like I can actually argue for Small Wonder as a TV classic. It's more of a guilty pleasure (or was when it was still on the air).

TV shows that drive you crazy!

LOL...no offense taken. To each his own--I guess that's why they have so many TV channels. I'm just thankful that it's been relegated to daytime on TBS, so I don't have nightmares about Mama's voice when I go to sleep. :) Small Wonder was great. I remember wishing my family had a robot...

TV shows that drive you crazy!

Good topic 'cuz I have a lot of them. I cannot stand the show "Mama's Family"--literally just cannot watch it for some reason. It's absolutely terrible. Also, I detest anything like Street Smarts or Elimi-date where they always have the dumbest, most annoying people as contestants. These...

    Muppet/Sesame crossovers question

I believe this is the Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson that aired the fall following Jim's death. It's a very well done special.

Muppet Family Christmas: Official Talkback Forum

Yeah, I've noticed that too. My guess is they already had Big Bird taking up lots of space. No Snuffy or Telly (unless I missed him) either.

Very Merry Muppet Christmas reairs on NBC December 6th

Just my opinion... A number of people obviously thought this special had too much adult humor, but Henson can't please everybody. If they make a purely kiddie movie, they'll alienate many adult fans. The classic Muppets are not Sesame Street and the target audience isn't pre-school kids...

    vBulletin 3.0: New Style Set

It took me about 5 minutes to get used to, but now I really like it. In a few weeks, I'm sure everyone will have forgotten what the old one looked like anyway. Keep up the good work, Phil!!

    Calvin and Hobbes

The best part of the whole Yukon Ho story was when he leaves Hobbes in the woods and his dad is out there in the dark looking for the stuffed tiger. That is so something my own dad would have done. In fact, that's probably what appeals to me most about the strip--there's so much I can to...

    Calvin and Hobbes

Yeah, I'd echo that thought. I stopped reading the comic section on a daily basis once Calvin and Hobbes ended. Fortunately, they've done a good job of producing reprints in book form. It's been a long time since I've read them, but this is easily my favorite comic strip ever. My...

John Denver & The Muppets: Rocky Mountain Holiday

Aaron's right Rocky Mountain Holiday was indeed released in 1983. I believe "John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together" was released around 1979. As mentioned elsewhere in the forum, the title of Rocky Mountain Holiday causes confusion--however, it is NOT the Christmas special.

    Muppet Family Christmas

Here's the commercials I can recall: OshKosh B'gosh M & M's Filmation presents "Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night" Leonard Parrt 6 (Bill Cosby movie) Best Buy Crispy Critters cereal ("they're indubitably delicious") Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal (with the three chefs) My First...

    I have an announcement

Yeah, that's exactly right. In a perfect communist society, no one would be very rich or very poor, but everyone would be right in the middle with an equal amount of wealth. Unfortunately, it hasn't historically worked out that way. The only current communist nations I know of are China...

    I have an announcement

Thanks Vic!! I guess taking political philosophy and economics courses helped a little after all. Plus, I was fortunate to have some good teachers along the way.
  17. Amazing Mumford

    I have an announcement

No problem--I didn't really know what the term meant until fairly recently. Here's about the best I can explain it: A communist basically believes in a classless society where everyone has equal right to property, food, etc. In a communist society, resources are pooled and distributed...

Muppet Family Christmas: Official Talkback Forum

My favorite part of the special is Swedish Chef's expanded role. He's just a hilarious character and Jim and Frank clearly went all out performing him here. His reaction to seeing Big Bird is priceless. Plus, he rarely got as much airtime on any of the other Muppet productions. Also...

Henson talking to Disney and Viacom for potential partnership deals

Good point. The Muppet Show would fit in perfectly on TV Land. TMS doesn't appeal as much to the audience that Disney, ABC Family, and Nick seem to be after. Nick at Nite is skewed towards newer (late 80s-early 90s) shows. So, I think TV Land (or perhaps A&E) might be the best location. Of...

"A Muppet Family Christmas" broadcast date

Just to confirm You're right. The original broadcast date was Wednesday, December 16, 1987. I just watched it tonight and it had a commercial for the Bill Cosby bomb "Leonard Part 6" and announced the movie was "opening Friday." And, according to IMDB, Leonard Part 6 was released on...
