cool bear... all your puppets that i've seen, look great
weird, though... today i was drawing designs for an arm/hand that had 3 fingers... he's called "the 3-fingered orderly" actually 6... but who's really counting???
The Rubber Room "rrpuppets.blogspot.com" i'm relatively new to puppet building, so i like to document most of the happenings in my little (12'x14') makeshift sound/video/design studio/workshop... i have a few separate blogs attached to the main one... i'm really having fun in the hopes of doing...
i have been using a huskystar 215... the highest low-end model you can get... it's basically a husqvarna, but made in another country... i think
i haven't had any problems with it... i break needles, but only because i was using the wrong ones
i haven't been on for a couple of days, and i come to find out that certain things come full circle...
in the post above, i mentioned Chensational's Chewie puppet on MAKE
i check the site, and there he is; The Grim Reaper... i didn't think they would post on it...
They are having a halloween...
This is what i did:
trace your hand with pencil on a piece of poster board... go down halfway up your forearm... Now go a little bigger (i went around 1/2 in.)... then you have your pattern...
as far as shirts go(if your puppet is wearing one)... try and find a size that fits your arm in the...
Thanks Everybody for the wonderful comments!
There will be a couple of videos soon... either i'm going to wait til after halloween, or i might get anxious and do some lighting tests and whatnot...
right now, i have 2 more puppets to build for this idea i'm working on... then i'm gong to slow...
sounds like a great plan...
if the foam will hold up, you could also use the rubber dip stuff* and some spraypaint for the rods...
*respirator required
Great MacGyver technique applied in your Idea... you know, "using what is available"... i'm a big fan of using that technique
i was "stuck" on one of the puppets i was building... So i started another one... something simple to pass the time... by the time i was done with that one, i was able to finish the first one... Taking a break in it's entirety*sp is a good suggestion too.
i love the sculpt work... That michael myers is awesome...
when i saw the martian yip yip clips i laughed like i did when i was a kid... they do seem like would be easy to do...
Oh, and Welcome... Good luck with your puppetry adventures!
At first it didn't, then it did... Then i didn't want it to... But it did anyway... i'm going to say i was "influenced subconcoiusly by the show"... mainly because i watch it, partly because i thought it would be cool to have a grim reaper puppet... Thanks for the compliments!
Hello agan, everybody... how have you all been? i finally finished the grim reaper puppet i started a few weeks ago... i'm not going to ramble on any more details here are the pictures:
