Romney wants to cut funding for PBS and Sesame Street

    Things you miss

I was going to vote "Nothing" on this, but... I much preferred it when the show wasn't celebrity/pop culture heavy like it's become in recent years. I know that both of these things have been a tradition of Sesame Street since the beginning, but it seems like every episode nowadays needs to...

    Oh Shocker... ANOTHER Celebrity Divorce...

Another reason why I'm happy I don't have a TV; so I don't get channels like E! where this kind of B-S is rampant. But people getting choked up over couples splitting up? I --- (shakes head, facepalm) No comment.

How To Create a New Muppet Fan?!!!

I guess, for children around the age of 5 or so, the best way to introduce them to The Muppets is through Sesame Street, obviously. But if your child is already familiar with Sesame Street, you can show them the "old school" seasons as well. It ought to bring up a fun discussion about the...

Frank Oz: "New Muppets Too Cute"

I will say that, after reading the article, he does have a point there - about The Muppets not being as cutting edge as before. But I also have this to say to Oz, which I've brought up about a jillion times before: At least Disney didn't give us a live-action/CGI "satirical adaptation" of The...

    Favorite Frank Oz Character

...anyone who's not a pig (turns around) Oh...uh...hi there...I was just talking about you and, uh --- YIKE! (jumps up out of his desk and runs for the door with angry pig in pursuit)

    The Three Stooges Thread

I'm a Three Stooges fan as well. Of all the third stooges (Curly, Shemp, Curly Joe, and Joe Besser), Curly is my favorite. I haven't seen the new movie yet, but I have looked at some of the trailers, and from what I've seen, the actors did a pretty good job capturing the originals.

Silly things you said, did, or thought as a kid

Another funny thing I remember doing as a kid was picking feathers out of a pillow, thinking I'd find some of Big Bird's feathers.

    Character duplicates

It seems that there have been multiple variations of some of the Sesame Street Muppets. I'm not talking about the different incarnations that the characters underwent through the years, but rather, times when there was a copy or two (or more) of the character in addition to the standard model...

The Muppet Christmas Carol coming to Blu-ray November 6

:halo:: Sorrr-ree! I, too, hope that they release the other Muppet movies (that Disney currently owns) on Blu-Ray, especially TMM and GMC - with more extras. Seeing that MCC, which is not my favorite of the Muppet movies, is getting the Blu-Ray release after MFS and MTM shows there's a good...

    Fads and Obsessions

Obsession with llamas? Makes me wonder if Carl Wheezer started the whole trend... There's a very obnoxious fad that's been going on in recent years. A fad so obnoxious, and so annoying that I'm too angry to even mention its title, especially when it trumped the Muppets at the box...

If cussing were allowed - uncensored - on this forum, I'd have a few words to say about that ************ Sorry, but I'm just so shocked and so outraged that this happened.

    Floyd "in joke"!

Actually, Floyd's name and outfit were both inspired by The Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, hence his name Sgt. Floyd Pepper. The way he walks sometimes is based on R. Crumb. Zoot, I don't think he was based on anyone in particular , except that he is supposed to represent...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

There's always going to be problems during production of a movie, television show, etc. This is nothing new, as anyone who's involved in this kind of work (myself included, kinda) will tell you this. Heck, there was some tension on the set of The Muppet Movie, apparently, according to Austin...
