These live shows have been going on for a while, but the scariest thing I just learned is that they are indeed legit (as in, official) :eek:

Besides the cheap-looking Elmo, Cookie, Ernie, Bert, and Abby, they also had a cheap-looking Grover, but I only saw him in one photo...
All I can say is... I really don't know. I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it either.
The things I liked about it:
* I liked that they were doing this to remind people that the Classic Muppets weren't just for kids.
* Good mix of original and post-Jim era characters.

I always divided the different eras into two groups:
Pre-1973 (Early seasons)
This were the "experimental" years, when the show was new and they were trying things out. Seasons 1-3 were, as TVTropes would describe it, "Early Installment Weirdness"; while a good chunk of now classic moments...

If this is all true as the original poster claims, then all I have to say is it's a stupid move on Sesame Workshop's part. They know there's a huge market for the classic material. Normally I'd say that it's things like time and money being the reasons for the slow process, but I don't know...My...
I just hope that MMA gets a worldwide theatrical release - including the countries that didn't get the last movie (hint hint).
But on the positive side, at least we don't have to worry about sparkling vampires anymore! :laugh:
