Ya gotta let the toys come out on their own, when they're ready and when they feel comfortable. Not every toy is ready for life outside of a closet right away.

Sesame Street to Introduce HIV-Positive Muppet

Thanks Luke, glad it made sense! While I have some issues with the idea of a Muppet being sick-- we have covered the Muppets are made of foam and imagination and not subject to the same mortality as humans thing-- I can see a benefit to doing it this way in South Africa. One of the...

Sesame Street to Introduce HIV-Positive Muppet

Actually, Luke, I think that would make sense. Sesame Street, in the US anyway, often covers a topic and moves on, but touches on it again from time to time. When the hurricane hit, Big Bird would not go inside and seek shelter without his picture of Mr. Hooper. That touched on Big Bird's...

Who are the top 5 posters?

Ken, that can't possibly be new information. I bet Jen has known for a while now. ;)

Now you see it...soon you Don't!

Looks good. I know others will disagree, but I'm really glad he can't pick his nose. Just not a place we really need to go. Honestly, I think VC Beaker is a cooler figure all around, but IS Fozzie is good. Particularly given the time you had to pull it together. Does it look...

    MuppetFest 2?

I suspect they want to stick as close to NYC as they can while keeping costs down. NYC offers all the Sesame Street folk and the Henson offices, which saves on travel and accomodation expenses for Henson-related participants. But NYC can be an awfully expensive vacation. I expect they are...

Re: Grail, What? Warrick wants to stick to figures from the show? I'm shocked! Truly and deeply shocked. Warrick a purist, who'd a thunk it? Ken, very nice tag line ya got there. Don't really want to know how Palisades defines casual Friday.

To learn about how Sesame Street came about, check out the book Sesame Street Unpaved and the A&E Biography on Sesame Street (the book is readily available from bookstores and I believe there is a link through the Muppet Central store and the video may be purchased at www.biography.com )...

Re: MuppetFest Ya know, the prizes were donated. They were donated by the same people who paid all the expenses realted to the Muppet Central button give away. The same two people who cover all the costs of running Muppet Central and providing a forum where we can all get together and...

I think it comes under the heading of blowing off steam and injecting a little levity into a tense situation. Anyone got a penguin we can toss around?

    The New Muppet Show Cast

Um, this isn't quite in the spirit of the thread, but I'd like to skip Randy and Andy this time around. Beyond that, I agree with what pretty much everyone else has said: The original TMS gang (including Jim and RIchard's characters with new voices) Clifford (with shades) Pepe Johnny...

Sesame Street to Introduce HIV-Positive Muppet - Closed ?

Baby Rowlf-- In South Africa, where the HIV+ Muppet will air, at least 1 in 9 people is HIV+. The AIDS epidemic is incredibly prolific and, according to recent scientific studies, it is expected to get worse before it reaches its 'saturation point.' There are a lot of misconceptions and...

    Ask Ken at Palisades

No official penguin plans as of yet, but Ken has said penguins would be cool. Gotta find a good place to fit them in. The Rowlf issue was covered a while back. We rarely see a full-body Rowlf. There is rather a lot of the ol' dog to love.

In the near future we may even be able to purchase these on the Palisades web site. According to either Ken or Mike-- think it was Mike-- they will not be widely released (not many retailers wanted to carry them) so we should check comic book stores and not the mainstream mall shops.

Hey Nate, that's great! Break a leg and all that. Were I in your neck of the woods I would be there-- terrific play.
