    Funniest Sesame Street sketches

I just wanted to share something I just noticed. I recently purchased the Sesame Street DVD "Sing Along." I believe it was made in 1987. Biff and Sully are busy fixing a TV. At the end, a pole nearly falls on them. One of the kids yells, "And you call yourself a repair man?!" Biff (Jerry...

    Fellow Church People

Right, the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were the people preaching fire and brimestone, saying God wanted us to stone and punish sinners. Jesus said we should not be like them. Right, Jesus said the commandments should never be broken. He was assuring people that everything they were...

Yes, that's the Old Testament, with the Ten Commandments where everything is "Don't do this, don't do that." I'm not putting down the Ten Commandments. According to Christian teaches, they were the beginning. It's the religion's history, and it essential to understand where it all came from...

    Disney Show (I can't remember)

I loved Kids Incorporated, though for some reason I always lost interest during the music parts!? And Adventures in Wonderland, that was really funny.

I just think that's very fire and brimestone, and that's not the God that Jesus spoke of. If it was, Jesus would have told the people to stone the adulterous woman. In my own experience, God does not get angry when we mess up. He tries to make us see the error of our ways. Jesus doesn't say...

Definitely, that's what I personally like about Jesus, that he set an example of love and forgiveness, even though it wasn't the norm or very popular. And he also showed it's perfectly (heh, perfectly) normal and justified to get angry sometimes. But that there are better ways of handling...

Oh yeah, anger is not a sin. But occasionally, an imperfection. I don't think Jesus should have been apathetic to what was happening. But again, he warned against violent revolution. He didn't advocate going to war against the Romans. He was probably angry with the tax collectors and prostitutes...

Right exactly. The message of the story is that getting angry and reacting badly to things is an imperfect part of being human. It's natural, we all do it. It doesn't mean we're bad people. It means we're not perfect. And no one, not even Jesus, is above getting angry and losing it. And yes...

Yes, but he trashed the place. He wouldn't have told his followers to react to their anger like that. It's supposed to show that Jesus was human just like everyone else. God made Jesus to be like us (in every way except sin). Not some impersonal, perfect figure we couldn't relate to. I don't...

    Jim Henson's Birthday!

I know! I just happened to be looking at his tributes on Muppet Central and noticed the date. I couldn't believe it was so close.

Jesus wasn't supposed to be perfect, just without sin. If he was perfect, he wouldn't have gotten angry at the people selling things outside the temple. But I do get what you're saying.

I was just watching The Fairly Oddparents cartoon this morning. In this episode, Timmy wished for a big brother. The big brother couldn't remember Timmy's name and kept caling him silly little brother nick names like "half pint" and "champ." But one of the other names he uses is "Scooter!"...

Yes, it's upsetting when a Christmas special that mentions God has suddenly become obsolete. It is political correctness taken too far. Though, I don't mind saying "Happy Holidays," because there are people who don't celebrate Christmas.

Yes it is nice to be open about things on a forum. Personally, in my experience, I think it is possible for God to be the creator and still make evolution possible. But, not trying to start a debate here. :)

Oh man, I nearly have tears in my eyes, the memories just start flooding back! Tigger was always my favorite because he was funny and always bouncing. Though, I can't believe I used to watch this everyday. Those characters are actually quite scary! And that rocking horse ::shiver:: Still...
