Anyone actually dragged to Ice Age? If they saw it in 2-D, does it have the Maggie cartoon, or was that 3-D exclusive?
I really wish there was more time for the Arkham Inmates to go nuts and escape, rather than all that time blown with Bruce Wayne in the hole. They could have had the...
VMX had substantial problems, but MOz was a failure across the board. VMX had the luxury of being around when Family Guy/Simpsons pop culture gags weren't completely exhausted and rendered unfunny (the Parody Movie franchise saw to that), sure... but beyond all of that, it got some things...
MTM was a special movie. It was the ONLY Muppet Movie without a tangible antagonist or villain (Dabney Coleman's bit was too short for me to count), relying on Kermit's own self doubt and unfavorable circumstances to bring the tension to the film.
And, like, didn't Frank not like that one...
Do I even need to mention Happy Caps? The long billed baseball caps that keep whacking Elmo off the head?
Someone has to have that on tape and put it up on Youtube.
No one would really blame you, though.
As much as I bash MCC, MTI, and even MFS, there are things I genuinely like about them. But they leave too much to be desired. MFS was carried by Gonzo and the new characters, for example. The scenes with Bobo and Jeff Tambor were pure gold. And I wish...
They did. It was called Muppet Wizard of Oz, and we all wish that one didn't exist. That was the Muppets own personal Batman and Robin.
I'm actually convinced that Joel Shuemacker hijacked production of that one. ;)
There seems to be some very personal aspect to his work with the Muppets. When they started the Ernie and Bert sketches back up, there was some sort of hitch in Frank's Bert to Steve's Ernie. Not a coldness, not an air of dejection... just the microscopic awkwardness of doing something with...
MCC and MTI were too safe, actually. Almost that they were afraid to try anything one direction or another, and they were too afraid to utilize Kermit. While I think he was perfectly cast in MCC, his appearance in MTI was off until Piggy entered the film. And his all smiles lobotomized...
Here's the question he SHOULD be asked.
Will Fungus return in Monster University?
There's a general sweetness in the movies that's not always present in the TV show. They were going for that. I didn't see an over abundance of sweetness that was too foreign to the movies, and like I said...
Do we really care what he thinks? He still seems to have some annoyed angle at it. I don't see the over cuteness at all. That would be MCC.
I think it comes down to the fact he wished it was more experimental. And Experimental would have made that movie BOMB big time. Now, the next film can...
The Mr. Bean segment of the opening ceremony was the only thing worth watching.
And brother, was it worth watching! I was afraid they'd gloss over Britain's greatest achievement to mankind, it's AMAZING comedy programming.
It's funny Snowth brought up the Middle East. We have all these Christian far conservatives whining about Sharia Law, and yet they want to impose their OWN version of Sharia Law. I'm sure they have a cuter, more marketable name for it, though.
And the scary thing is, the conversation is STILL...
Voice didn't bug me at all. A little over the top, sure. But I'm sure if he talked with his natural voice, it would be worse.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that was the point. It really was an ensemble piece, and the film seemed to be equal parts about Gordon, Selena Kyle...
Dear sweet Glob no! The movie would feature Johnny Depp as Joker and Helen Carter as Harley Quinn and that would be the whole movie. When he did the first 2 Batman movies, he was a young dynamo that gave us a visionary world. Now he's stuck in his ways, locked into a comfort zone of same...
I finally got to see Dark Knight Rises, and it was just as extraordinary as everyone says it was. Bane was much more than the big guy that usually just beats up Batman, and the film was richer for adding that depth to him. I especially like how Catwoman wasn't even mentioned by name (like...
Even the "marriage is sacred" stuff is baloney. There are people get married for all the wrong reasons and divorce at the drop of a hat. Celebrity marriages, I don't even have to finish this sentence. People who can't even stand each other have more rights than 2 dudes that genuinely love...
This was pretty edgy as far as I was concerned. A GOOD kind of edgy that showed that the characters still worked.
I think by "safe" there was a concern about making huge stretches in the characters, other than Kermit's rightful depression. The movie was "safe" in terms that it wasn't...
Heh... reread my "subside off your own tomatoes" spiel. You do NOT want to know what companies do with their money. And their money is our money that we gave them. I like that though... stop eating there due to personal choice. Refusing to do business with them on that level is all Henson...
Yeah, but you miss the point. They don't care if they don't get a single viewer or not, it's just much MUCH cheaper than hiring union staff and celebrities (minus hosts). They don't have to pay contestants squat. It's sweatshop programming.
Now for someone who's jumped the Shark and back...
