Well it's not so strange. You can love something, but still acknowledge when they've stopped doing a good job. It's hard to continue doing great work for years and years.
I saw the Wallace and Gromit movie last summer, I adored it!
I was nervous about seeing it at first; I tend to have this FEAR of claymation (I seriously have trouble watching Gumby! ::shiver:: )
But very quickly I fell in the love with the W&G characters, they were just so cute and...
I'm very sorry about your loss, and the way you found out, just awful. It is definitely normal to cry, death feels so final and cruel. I don't know what you believe or anything, but I do try to remember that the person hasn't gone away for good and is still watching over you. For us, death...
The kids on Barney generally do over-the-top acting, and are in some cases older than the kids on Sesame Street. With Sesame Street, it always looked more like the adults and puppets were just ad libbing with the kids, who were just being themselves in the scene, not trying to act.
Plus, it...
Hmm, I'm not really into the movie, and I tend to agree that it slows down the film and takes away from The Muppets. But I can also see why cutting the song hurts the story a bit, taking away Scrooge's motivation to change.
Yup, and what people don't realize is, when you're so clearly sold into one way of thinking, your opinion isn't as reliable. No matter what the issue, you're always going to be on the same side. We're all guilty of this sometimes.
Honestly, I never had a problem with liking the Muppets as I got older. No one seemed to mind that. Though I did get a lot of grief for liking Star Trek (pure ignorance! Lol)
From my experience, it's good to be really into something like TV shows. Good TV shows are a true art form and can give...
Ohh, I did see that one! So funny!
"Quiet...quiet please...quiet...QUIET!"
I was able to go to The Museum of TV and Radio the other day. After awhile I was getting ready to leave, when I noticed they were showing The Muppets at Walt Disney World on the big screen, (yay!). At first I...
Thanks so much for the clip, Meep!
Sorry I couldn't deliver, Count! I got really busy towards the end of the day. :p
I adored Richard in that sketch! lol "It's hard work. The hours are long. But it's important!" Lol
Not sure yet who the others were, I'd have to listen again.
I was able to see an ABC 1982 special called I Love Liberty recently. Big Bird and The Muppets made an appearance in the special, putting on a raucous version of the play 1776! They were there to demonstrate how the founding of our country was frought with turmoil and disagreements, but somehow...
Hmm, well yes it's normal to start clashing with your parents as you get older. Separating is often healthy, it's an opportunity to learn to do things for yourself and gain new responsibilities. It can be hard too, it's good to be cautious, but that's life, heh. Again, good luck with everthing. :)
The thing to remember is, you never know what can happen. :)
Some of you might know about Jerry Nelson's daughter Christine. Her mother Jacquie Gordon wrote a book about her called One Wish: A True Story of Courage and Love. Google books put some excerpts up. This one was from when she went to...
Sorry all that happened! I don't really know your situation, so I won't comment too much. Parents and kids often disagree and it's annoying and hard, but remember they do what they do because they care about you. My prayers are with you. We all go through difficult times, just stay positive and...
I liked the first Scooby Doo movie. It combined the qualities of the kids shows, with all the "adult" jokes people associate with it.
I didn't like Rocky and Bullwinkle. The plot and jokes were paper thin and unfunny. The old show, clever and ahead of its time, did not deserve that.
Hehe, well some of the dog action was cute. But generally, this is the kind of kids entertainment that I don't appreciate. I just wonder if the people behind these remake movies have a clue why the old shows were so successful in the first place.
I don't mind them being adult either, definitely. It's amazing how many people still don't get that. Though, there is a difference between genuine adult humor and immature humor attempting to be adult.
Yeah, I still can't comment on this potential new project. The projects haven't been as good...
Thanks ilikemuppets! Happy Independence Day all!
"The Eagle inside belongs to us!" (1776 Musical) :attitude:
Sorry guys, but after watching the special a couple more times, I'm gonna have to defend Morley a bit here. Now before you start throwing things at me, let me explain!
I feel like...
I saw a SS book in the bookstore over the weekend. It was called Abby's First Day of School. It's obviously supposed to be about Abby and her first day of school. The story is about her, a new character on Sesame Street. However, on the cover of this book which is supposedly about Abby, is a...
