It's like the Smurfs. If you don't like them when you're younger, chances are you're not going to care much for them unless you're a huge Eurocomics nerd. And even if you are, chances are you'll go straight to Tintin instead.
How about the skit where the kid asks the not at all plagiarized from Terry Gilliam campy photos if they've seen his "No?"
Or, more recently (well... relatively) where Kingston Livingston bothers Maria until he gets to have a jalapeno, only to have a seizure, fall to the floor in pain, shoot...
It's time for us fans to put our foot...errr... feet down. Far too long have we been polite about this:
It's time to take this horse to the back of the barn. Face it. It's the single most overused stock Muppet poser photo out there. Even more so than the lame folded arms wearing glasses...
The one thing Disney really needed to have doen when they took over the Muppets was to toss the 1990's poser photos away and start fresh with all new ones. They did to some extent. These cars use a new Piggy and Kermit, Gonzo, and (I think) Animal. But I agree... they're straight forward...
Not even a Bluray release. WOW! That's seriously bad as far as theatrical movies go.
I'll say it a millionth time. What the heck is stopping the Riff Trax guys from doing a commentary on this? The world would be a great place if some professional movie hecklers got a hold of it. It can't...
I once read that the real life Christopher Robin grew up to be ticked the heck off at having a children's book character based on him. Still... you could imagine the bullying that kid must've got. Like I said, if you were born around 1990, you probably grew up with the guy... if you were born...
Actually, Peter's voice is just a bit higher. Ted's voice is more the tone of Seth's natural voice with a cartoony Boston accent affected to it.
Seriously... this movie was AWESOME if you live in the Boston era. Especially the sex with Bostonian women gag. I only wish I was there on one of...
I tell yah... new cartoon fans are spoiled to some degree (other than the well over a year long wait for the second season of the new Scooby series, that is). I really remember Kid's WB's insufferable wait until a sweeps month for up to 3 new episodes to make 13 episodes last from September to...
I never quite understood why Warner Bros was having trouble releasing the 2 shows with the characters they overmerchandise the most, Taz and Tweety. We got that one first season of Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries on DVD and nothing about Taz-Mania since VHS. Seriously, Taz and Tweety are the...
Dora is far worse. At least Martin Short is so exuberant in his performance that it carries the show (I'm a fan, so I have a bias). Plus, it seems they managed to avert the dreaded "asking questions to no audience only to answer them" bit, with the exception of the fish's guessing game that...
It all depends on the writer. I can see, at the very least, someone sneaking in someone obscure in a crowd scene. I'm sure we'll see a lot of the main core cast at first. Who knows what we'll see if this becomes a hit?
To add to the poorly drawn face that took 5 minutes comment... it looks suspiciously like the Animated version of Gobo with a 'Fro.
but I've seen expensive shoes that are named after cartoon characters that don't even have a face slapped on them, and you're only able to tell they're that...
The Electric Mayhem Bus- absolutely wonderful
The other stuff... meh. I have 2 cars in different scale with that very same stock picture of the Swedish Chef from Winner's Circle, and they're better than that. The silkscreened images of things cars are alright, I guess... die hard die cast...
You'd think Martin Short's star power would get that thing a real, proper release... but then again, Warner Archives manages to at least get some of these obscure HB shows out there for better or worse. I don't see why we need Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids (the cartoon that focuses on an...
Yeah. Arthur did bite a little of the Muppet potential, I feel. I was really worried about an Elf/Looney Tunes Back in Action situation where more people would go to the Christmas film than the franchise relauncher. But really, it was that second week in that hurt the movie. Hopefully we'll see...
