for the swede here with a smaller english vocabulary than you guys, could you plese explain what the word reticulated means so i could start looking for that kind of foam here in sweden?
Up until now i have worked with regular upholstryfoam but as i understand reticulated has a lighter wheight...
I'd be very happy if the deadline was extended a day or two. I have the puppet ready but i feel that i need some work on charachter features. However those who have submitted already might feel upset because they had to rush it (?)
On the sockpuppet-pattern i tried craft-foam and it works really good for such a small puppet. I can imagine it's not really good for bigger puppets though.
In the pattern it says that you stuff the head to round it off. So, may i use sheet-foam instead for the contest? I will use the original pattern for it so it's nothing i made up myself...
Thanks! I am actually stiching right now. i used hot tapwater, but boiled one teaboiler of water to add to it. It turned out fine, i only had to keep it in about 25 minutes. I'm surprized at how fast antron dries. It's all dry now so i am stiching as i said. I actually handstitch. I used to work...
Just a friendly tip. i found this while surfing after resources:
Cutting and sewing fake fur
It explains how to get an even cut without destroying the strands aswell as getting strands out of the seams.
Wow, i am dyeing antron for the first time ever. I'm using the hottest tapwater, it is pretty hot. And i am uing my tup. Let's hope it doesn't pick up the dye tho, or my wife to be will be furious with me :o
I am using a dye called nitor. I followed the instructions and let's hope it turns...
About the pattern, when printing, is 100% enough for a regular adult hand or do i have to enlarge it? My own hands arn't big, nor small but just average...
If everything goes well i will try to be in the contest ;) I did get the pattern. Very simple but interesting pattern. I'll try to use my antron that i bought 3-4 years ago ;)
