I think that's a very good way of putting it. And that's true about his creation being left behind. That's the nice thing about TV and film, whatever you've contributed is saved forever. And even if the film is eventually lost (nothing's perfect after all), the memory will always survive in...
I know! I've always wondered that too. Part of me says some of it looks professionally done (no offence to the puppeteers!). Of course, if they'd included the Muppet Morsels this time, we'd know by now wouldn't we? Hehe:rolleyes:
I just watched that scene again...::shiver:: It IS freaky! lol...
Well the simple fact is they don't create channels as havens for people, they do it to make money and to stay on the air. And while these channels were excellent and clearly had their audiences, they obviously weren't bringing in as much as other networks. It's a shame, but it is a business. In...
Actually yeah it's perfectly legal to remake old movies like that as long as they do all the preliminary stuff. Like paying whoever owns the rights to the film etc. ::shrugs::
I personally don't mind what other religions people chose to believe in, as long as they're good people. In my mind, all religions have it at least partially right. In my case, Christianity works for me. Partially because I grew up with it I suppose. But also because of the things Jesus taught...
And what's odd is, these remakes are rarely successful. They are not popular with audiences. And then there's this odd myth that the original TV shows and movies need to be hidden away because no one wants them. It's just not true. It's like audiences are not even being listened to.
The only problem I had with Season 1, to be honest, was the constant "I course I could be wrong" jokes. It's just not that funny to me. A joke like that really depends on the context. I do prefer the more "Muppety" humor of the other seasons. :)
Yeah I do agree with that, and a lot of experts actually argue the same thing. It's just too much of a coincidence that we exist. We benefit it from life everyday, like we somehow just deserve it, heh. Purely by accident? Gee, aren't we lucky for no apparent reason!
But you know, some days...
To me the article just seems to give the impression that faith is somehow supposed to be easy. That if you struggle with it, that's it, you're not sincere! Faith is believing in something you don't have direct proof of. Does that sound easy? Not in my opinion, heh. That's what makes it special...
Just a quick thing. I noticed there was an article today about some letters Mother Teresa wrote before she died. In some of them, she talks about the doubts she sometimes had about God. How it was hard for her to feel his presence at times.
It seemed to be like the article was making this...
To be honest I guess I just always went with what was on the screen: Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter and maybe Rowlf. Somewhere along the line they became the "Big 6." Then the Electric Mayhem was a little separate because they were "the band." Lol
I think that's very true. I don't envy the performers in this task, they are doing the best they can and not always appreciated for it.
About the whole issue of "old and new" Muppet projects in general, it's obviously very complicated. I'm glad at least that we're able to discuss it in a...
Yeah, I do try not to be too hard on the replacement puppeteers. It's a rather thankless job to take over a popular character. Plus, I think many of the problems come from the writing rather than the performing.'
Like, I didn't see much of this Gladys, but the voice was pretty close (though...
Being a "replacement" puppeteer is rather thankless and difficult role to fulfill, having to take over the voice and personality of a popular character. So I don't critique the performers too much. :)
I think a lot of the critique is more with the writing rather than the performers themselves...
Hehe, yeah that Disney thing would be kinda awkward now, lol. Though a lot of people poke fun at Disney, it being such a huge organisation.
::sniff:: I briefly watched Sesame Street this morning. Gladys was in the episode with Elmo and Zoe (different puppeteer obviously). I initially felt...
Hehe! I'm so happy today! You know for the longest time when I'd think back on Sesame Street, I rarely remembered hearing any of Richard's characters. I was beginning to think I must have missed him entirely during my viewings, lol. But today I was proven wrong; I'd completely forgotten this...
