You are correct it's Region 2 but it covers the whole of Europe, not just France. However, while the disc was rumored it has been taken off the current release schedule.
Jim did sign a lot of that type of photo, and in green. I've seen some legit versions from around that time and I would agree its a bit off in places. The middle part looks a bit cramped. That's not to say it's fake though - Phil or Michael Dixon are your experts for that.
The point is that it's not only 25%, it's 25% they vitally depend on. You put out an item at retail which is of no interest to general consumers and a) you lose the sales that regular figure would have made amongst those consumers, b) they might end up with the army builder pack peg warming, and...
I'm not Ken or Palisades but maybe I can help a bit :-
I just don't see a 4 pack of chickens being any less marketable than Bear Patrol Fozzie.
Each wave is finely balanced to provide something for everyone. Retail consumers may like the themed characters (MTI Sam) the most while...
Except the other monsters aren't as high profile as Sweetums and probably wouldn't sell as well, especially not at that price. Mega's are always big name characters, any of the others wouldn't work.
Maybe that could be the key to Palisades capturing the Toys R Us type consumers ? I could just see Ken raving about the quality of the PVC's in his 'Happy Meals' ! ;)
It's just rumor, but I read elsewhere that the word from 'secret squirrel' type sources was that the show was taking so much time to arrange with all the sale problems that Fox lost interest, and at the time were reluctant to pay Henson when they had no idea who would own the company down the...
It's as much Henson's fault as the DVD company. The problem is rights. Henson are known for charging a lot for it's stuff, more than some small production company. Add that to Henson's niche audience (not as many people buying the stuff as say Simpsons or a hit movie) and the DVD company has...
Nah, that was early Jim Henson work. FR - they were trying to get a deal on, but they probably want so much for the rights. It means the small companies can't compete but maybe if the UK release does well Columbia will have enough backup research to justify a USA version.
If the rumors are anything to go by, if it did happen, it wouldn't be for at least another year. I think in the Henson companies current position (ie:- not much money) they couldn't really justify investing right now in something that isn't all that profitable or boosts prospects dramatically...
Yeah, old thread but interesting. Scifiwarehouse ended up dropping their prices and taking all the exclusives. As well as that www.toonstogo.com in the UK also do a good deal. So things got a little better for the UK. Could still improve though
TV Land - they won't know when it is airing until December so I am guessing early next year. It has celebrities though so maybe they'd put it out very quickly, i dunno, i'll try to find out. I'll also try to get that website launched by then - it's kinda becoming a lifes goal with all the work...
Updated info just posted at my forum :-

Well the episodes will take up a lot of room on each disc but you never know. I think it makes sense to do a 4 disc set sensibly priced though - it should sell well over the holidays.
I think I remember Ken saying there will be a seasonal exclusive. For the first time ever it will be totally exclusive to the club members. All this is going back a bit though - i'm pretty sure he said this year.
Absolutely fantastic news. HMV are always putting Muppet stuff in and out of sales too so you might pick up an even bigger bargain if you go there on the right day but £34.99 is a steal anyway. I would guess no extra's because of fitting all the eps on the discs.
