It is too early to say, but something will have to happen. Palisades (and Sababa etc) hold a license for the Muppets with the JHC, but JHC won't own the Muppets. It'll all be down to what happens between Henson and Disney, whether they want control over who merchandises what right from the...
It's Henson who will (hopefully) be producing these new projects, not Disney - they don't need any writers. It's a non-exclusive agreement though, means Henson can work for whoever they like and Disney (with the Muppets) can employ whoever they like. Henson can be used as producers...
No it means they are NOT included. The Henson Company will keep them and can do what they like with them. The problem with this is that aside from Farscape, apart from programme sales there is an even less chance now of them actually being able to do anything with them. Most tragically...
It only includes "Classic Muppets", "Muppet Babies" and "Bear In The Big Blue House". It includes the past TV/Film programming for only those properties. I'm not sure about "Muppets Tonight" or "Kermits Swamp Years" but i would think it includes them.
Happy Birthday Cindy
On this most memorable day in Muppet history i just noticed that it is Cindy's birthday. A very happy, fun, and Muppety birthday to you Cindy, and all others on MC who share a birthday today.
An unofficial independant chat room has been set up for people from Palisades forums and MC to talk about the news. It is at :- http://chat.cjb.net/muppetsale
The main points here are that the Henson company are not selling "The Company" (as in with EMTV), they have sold "The Muppets", "The Muppet Babies" and "Bear". That includes the licensing, puppets, and past shows and films. Thats all they are selling. The idea is that Disney will hire "The...
Welcome back Chris!!!! Good to see you have returned, yes we now have smilies and flash banners and things. I remember those times in the chat room well, especially the time that college girl came in and Muppets wasn't her main focus.
Stay single Cory - its way cheaper. You can trust me on that ....... btw - be careful loving fate, the rad muppet lovin geek girl will probably get all jealous and burn your Fraggle Rock tapes !
Happy 26th Birthday Cory - May you have mmmmmmmaaaaaaannnnny more and stay lucky ! I was gonna send you a present but instead i donated the cash to the JHC water cooler fund !
I agree that there has been almost too much merchandise in the last two years. Not that i'd like it to go away but you certainly do notice a lot of difference compared to before. Two things that make it worse is that Henson have gone more into the speciality toy side of the licensing &...
True, but it's coming upto the point where the distribution contract expires which is pretty much Henson's biggest deal. If anything was to come out of these talks and they dump Columbia now would be the most predictable time for something to actually happen with anyone else.
They called you Kev when you used Kevin ? Maybe that was someone who does that out of habit but maybe they knew of you from the forums where people call you Kev a lot.
Oh yeah, the Muppet characters in the theme parks, that means nothing. I think the topic is warranted though as we know Henson has been talking to Disney recently. I think the theme park speculation was just being used as a way of being able to approach and discuss the Henson/Disney topic...
It was a joke. There are people dressed as Kermit, Mickey, Minnie and Miss Piggy. I was just doin' a lil speculatin as to who was dancin away happily in the costumes ! ;)
