So if they are planning to make all the movies, should they not be making the prequel first before the Witch & Wardrobe? I guess that wouldn't be as exciting a film to launch it with though.
There have been mentions of both Jim Henson and The Muppets. First of all they talked about reaching a deal with the Henson family to buy Bear In The Big Blue House and Jim Henson's The Muppets. They called the Muppets 'evergreen' and emphasised what historic characters they were (which is a...
Yeah i do get the tabloidy element in them - I don't particularly seeing the point though in writing sensationalist articles on Muppets and Mickey mouse in order to make a few bucks and a few fanboys scream but i guess it takes all sorts. It's quite funny that he partners with AICN and they've...
I actually don't find them that entertaining - the questioning style seems very poor to me. It irritates me when i see things that blatently aren't true but he makes out they are possible rumors he's heard. 90% of an article is usually just basic information that he has pulled from press...
Exactly, again they are trying to make out that Jim wanted Disney to just own "The Muppets" rather than the entire company. The whole "It took us fifteen years, but we finally got it right." thing is sickening. If Disney were that interested they would have bought the company from them before...
Yeah we are familiar with his work here ..... and seems like he is with ours too! I notice a great similarity between the first part of his article and Annika's first editorial. The Broadway Theater show was a Henson thing that was in development, not a Disney thing. It's so Henson that Jim...
It would depend on who he is at the BBC and where he works. The box is at Elstree, not TV Centre. Seeing it at TV Centre would be easy but that studio D at Elstree is in pretty much constant use, they are always filming on it so it makes it a lot harder to get in. The insides of the...
Keep in mind the actual name 'Muppet Central' is (as you probably know) Henson invented, the control room in JHH. So they can stake a claim for that, but really they can have a problem with anything 'Muppet' if they wish. The term is in the UK dictionary i think so in American law it probably...
I agree Kenny. And as for not being able to use the Jim Henson name, i'm sure they could sort that out if they really wanted to - not buy it, but agree or license it with the Henson legacy or something. It really does stink - if a petition had any chance i'd be up for it.
I just don't know why they wouldn't have negotiated for Disney to be able to use "Jim Henson" with special agreement from the Henson Legacy in exchange for the Legacy to be able to use Muppet images and Kermit as as a logo or something. I can understand why the actual Henson Company has to get...
Actually if this thread is right, i'm wrong :- http://forum.muppetcentral.com/showthread.php?t=12815
I honestly thought Disney would have had a bit more sense than that and that the Henson's would be quite insistent that they not be able to do it anyway. Shows what tradition stands for...
OMG - That has just knocked me for six. I would have bet my life they'd have negotiated terms to use the Jim Henson name, especially as they'll still be paying the Hensons a share of future profits and all. I hope they go with just "The Muppets" or something. One of the things i thought...
If there was no contractual agreement over the name then it wouldn't make a difference if someone bought the company or not - you could have seen "EMTV's Muppets". I think you can safely bet your bippy though that the Henson's and Disney negotiated use of the Jim Henson name and they will not...
The thing is it was Jim and Eisner's dream that the JIM HENSON COMPANY and the Disney Company came together, not just the Muppets. You also notice they use the term "stewards" which is like they are temporarily looking after them, but they own them. Not that i'm against them but these media...
