Well, I was quite miserable today, till I finally received an unexpected piece of comfort.
I was able to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art gift shop. Of course the RHLC members will understand the signficance of the visit, hehe. Though, I can't be sure if it was the same one (I understand...
I just hope it comes out good for the writers; they are notoriously treated badly in entertainment. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often! lol
Until then, yeah I guess I don't want the Muppest to be used as scabs, lol.
I just saw the stretch Elmo today, yeah a little disturbing lol.
But even worse, I saw a Sesame Street "Sleigh Ride" toy today, featuring Elmo, Cookie Monster and Oscar (in that order) riding on a sled. I swear, they all look terrifying! Even Elmo, just this half shocked, half snarling...
Actually , I don't think we all have different opinions of love, just that we're concentrating on different aspects. But all are accurate. :)
Glad you liked the clip, Skye! "IN...ahhh!" Lol ;)
Btw, early Christmas special this year (yeah yeah what else is new, right?) Anyway, someone posted...
Actually 1964 was the year they revealed a connection between smoking and lung cancer. So they would have known by the time the book was written. :)
It is interesting to witness the "logic" people had at the time regarding cigarettes, even after discovering it caused cancer. You wouldn't smoke...
This is off topic, lol, but I just wanted to say that as a female, I've always been happy to have Piggy (not that I didn't wish for more female characters. ;) ).
The thing is, you can eat McDonald's occasionally and not have your life threatened. You don't have the same guarantee with Tobacco.
I'm not saying we don't have a health crisis in this country, but things need to be kept in perspective. What's needed is discipline, not a ban on all junk food. :)
I honestly don't mind that PBS supports McDonald's. McDonald's is nice every now and then, as long as you don't eat it everyday. And as ISNorden said, the company has run a successful children's charity for years. They know their main market is children and that it's in their interest to appeal...
That is a shame, I honestly think if Disney doesn't want to do anything with them, they should just sell them to another company. They probably won't right away, because just owning the Muppets is a benefit for them. (Though again, I don't think it's all their fault).
Believe it or not, I've occasionally wished for the same thing! lol
On the other hand, commericals are all about repetition, the idea that you need to see it over and over again (Sesame Street knows all about this ;) ).
Actually it's becoming increasing common for most DVDs, it doesn't really matter what the quality of the show is, heh.
It's annoying for us viewers of course. But you know, they have to advertise. Either their own items or a group they are partnering with. If they make it so the commericals...
Well yes, but Christianity is also about not doing it again, hehe. But yes, I agree, forgiveness is extremely important. :)
I don't know much about the show so I can't comment yet. I don't object to the homosexual theme, that's ok with me. But I'm skeptical as to whether the humor is actually...
