Still happening now but Kermit has made a suprise live appearance (with top billing) on the final show in the series of "Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway" on ITV in the UK. So far he's done a live piece in the studio, been in a pre-recorded earlier skit outside the studio dressed as Reporter...
Is this "Amedtlou" (or however it was spelt) Mandy?. Nice to hear from you whatever the case. Sammie is in college now too. Sorry to hear you fell foul of a Muppet fan love rat !
Notice i said SOME - i was winding him up. I know some of the stuff they make is ok. Most of the high end collectables and the plushes aren't bad. They do suck at low cost plastic though the newer Snow White stuff isn't too bad.
I hate people being smug about the Muppets being bought by...
Just a quick note to say that Columbia reduced the RRP of the Fraggle Rock DVD today - it's now £14.99 rather than the previous £19.99. With the online sites giving you savings over the RRP you can now pick up the disc for £11.99 at play.com
Actually it seems as if they are a slightly bigger home entertainment distributor now than a few years ago. HIT actually now controls nearly 13% of the children's video market making it the fourth largest children's video distributor in the USA. The Henson deal will give them more properties...
It's a nice account from Floyd Norman of his experiences. In the 25 years gap he mentions much went on too, Henson himself trying to buy Disney and an earlier attempt by Jim to sell JHC to Disney but being told they weren't interested. Maybe one of the Henson historians will write a book or...
I think quite possibly in a few years the Muppets could be promoted far heavier than Mickey or Pooh, it's just how long that lasts that is more the question. Diz have so many brands to push sometimes they have to wait their turn to make sure they aren't competing with each other. From what we...
If you read back a page or two you'll see a list of the episodes. It doesn't contain any scenes with the American/Canadian Doc. Instead it contains scenes with Sprocket and Fulton Mckay, a Scottish actor who played a lighthouse keeper in the UK episodes called "The Captain". The cutscenes...
It doesnt affect the current disc as thats already out, but it will get deleted later this year once CTHE's license finishes. It probably means there won't be a 'Volume 2' released by Columbia though. It was a compilation DVD, and HIT will most likely release compilation DVD's and we already...
I think it may have gone into effect, just it isnt so formal that there is a finite deadline for them to work out whats happening seeing as the two companies will be working together a lot anyway. The HIT press release said the characters were now the property of Disney, although i guess that...
Well at your local mall you'll be able to choose which version you get (depending on which they have in stock of course). Not sure you can do that with Amazon. Killer Toys (www.killertoys.com) also has Johnny in stock but they ship variants out at random.
This has absolutely nothing to do with Sesame Street, thats owned by someone else now. This deal is mainly about Henson having an avenue to make new pre-school childrens shows like what they were doing before with Hoobs and Construction Site. It includes the distribution rights to the old...
Whether you know him as James Vier, James Carroll, Jamie, Frogboy, Frogboy4 or just "that dude who does the cool graphics" it's his birthday today and he's ...ummmm .... too chicken to enter his age into his profile so probably ancient as well. Jamie is responsible for designing all the flash...
Yeah it may well be a good move for them to launch a pre-school channel in the USA - they do have some great brands, and while the older Henson stuff will take a big push to build popularity with pre-schoolers it'll help give them some more American themed programming. Lots of competition...
