Actually it was probably negotiated with the Henson's at the time of the sale. You don't get big deals like that without lots of conditions.
I don't see them ever being called Disney's Muppets. I think legally it could be argued that people would be mislead into thinking Disney were the...
Phil i don't know if this is much help but Joe at Killer Toys has said that anyone ordering a Sam figure from their store can write in the comments field (i think that was it, or maybe it was email him) that they want the shifty variant and he would be able to accomodate them. This was said...
Now that would be just scary .... :smirk:
I would have thought the ol' Muppets are for kids argument would have been mooted somewhat by the nostalgia/cult television revival but shows what i know, as is apparent from this thread.
I cannot see Palisades getting the plastic licenses for Oz. I'd like them to but seeing as how they and Sababa have not been affected from the sale (so far) it seems more likely (IMO) Disney will concentrate on this movie and produce themed PVC's and Plushies 'in house' for sale through their...
I agree he had good and bad points, wouldn't be as anti him as you are but i can certainly understand what you are saying. I think the shutting down of the NY workshop and some of the later staff cuts were influenced by the Henson kids because it happened so close to the buyout but yeah he...
Actually he did most of the 25th anniversary stuff, re-launched the merchandising side of the brand so we have things like the action figures and other specialist products. He played a major part in the organisation of Muppetfest which sealed the deal for the VMX movie and kept the Muppets...
Just wanted to bring everyone the news from the Palisades forum that Ken Lilly, product developer at Palisades Toys has become a daddy.
"Today at 9:05 AM, Carter Maximus Lilly entered the world weighing in at 7 pounds, 1.4 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches. Talk about a Weekend Swag Run."...
Yeah he's still fairly active although recently he has had some health issues that mean he cannot do the puppeteering side as much. There was an interview with him published recently which discussed this issue and from memory, i think he said he was voicing his characters in the last Muppet...
Right on brother. Actually i was in the Disney Store today to look at the new Muppet stuff that's invaded and it's all still marked "The Jim Henson Company" but it was all prominently displayed at the front of store.
Anyway we don't know yet but i think the fact that they created a holding...
I'm waiting to vote until i actually get them like the poll asks. I know they are in the UK, but as far as the USA i think only the smaller retailers like comic shops have actually stocked or shipped them so far.
I speak for myself thanks, not sticking up for anyone. It was a bit of a cheap shot Danny left himself open to but then i'm sure he's taken enough at me in his time. That aside, is there ANY proof or even hard evidence this actually is Andy? If there is then cool, of course i don't support...
I haven't been following this at all or read any of the links so if it's old information then apologies, but there was an industry rumor that the Weinsteins are about to partner with Steve Jobs to buy MGM and the deal was very close.
