MGM doesn't own any cable channels in the US, but they did own 20% interest in AMC, WE, IFC, and Bravo from 2002 to 2003, then they sold there interest off to raise money to place a bid for Vivendi Universal's Entertainment(Witch they didn't get.)assets. But they have been expanding there cable channel interest.MGM owned about 12 interest in cable channels in 1998, to interest in about 50, a third of which are MGM branded cable channels in 2004. Turner Classic Movies is owned by TimeWarner, and most of it's programing is the movies Turner Stoled from MGM and older Warner Bros. films. Here's some channels MGM owns interest in:

I haven't been following this at all or read any of the links so if it's old information then apologies, but there was an industry rumor that the Weinsteins are about to partner with Steve Jobs to buy MGM and the deal was very close.
