Yeah sorta, except Sesame uses some Henson company puppeteers but Sesame Workshop make the shows. With Disney, JHC will be making the shows AND employing the puppeteers just like before, except Disney will have a little input.
www.palisadestoys.com - but if you want a Zoot wait until the new packages are announced in the Summer incase he is one of the sign up figures. It costs $50 for lifetime membership - you get the figure, lifetime membership to get other figures cheaper, and the membership kit shipped free.
It seems the Muppeteers will not be working for Disney, so nothing really will change with them. The Henson Company has a three year contract to make the Muppet shows and movies for Disney, the Muppeteers work freelance for the Jim Henson Company and will be hired by them as and when needed...
There could be a new signature Zoot as one of the new collectors club sign up figures (existing members will be able to buy a new membership kit at a discounted price in order to get either of the new sign up figures). It''s just a rumor right now though.
I'm well impressed. They look good enough to be official products, better even. All so detailed and the likenesses, detail and paint are just so perfect. Well done.
No by licensing changes i meant announcing the new licensees who will be making merchandise for the Muppet projects that Disney will produce. Things like Oz (if it happens), the 50th birthday and whatever they are planning to do with Muppet Babies now.
I don't know about them ever changing...
You know that Palisades are doing Zim figures right?
Anyhoo, i've never seen Spongebob. I picked up a DVD and read the back, plots sound funny. I was also meant to go eat in a recreation of their "Krusty Krab" at a UK trade show but never got time. I must watch it sometime.
Yup, they are not expected to announce any major projects or even licensing changes until early 2005. I think they will make a big deal of the 50th birthday as the big thing where people really do know Disney have the Muppets.
I would say something Muppets related, not sure they'd make a big deal out of them though. Someone quite close to the Muppets told me they had no plans to announce anything major until early 2005.
Oh yeah i just looked back and there are quite a few missing. One day a character index would be a great idea for the guides section here, full descriptions and not just a few sentences. That's one of the great things about the episode guides even if they do (understandably) take a long time...
Yeah i was talking more about actual content in posts. What i was posting about myself in 1997 i definitely wouldn't consider doing nowadays. As long as there was a mod in charge who could address any issues people who had posted there had it might be ok. All theoretical really though for now.
Yeah but Bear was kinda a Disney thing ........ oh, *checks last few months news stories*. Maybe they'll have Kermit wear mouse ears too - super !
I guess it's a bigger deal to some more than others, and upto whatever Phillip decides of course. It can just be unlocked and locked again now basic members can be wizards again so maybe thats the solution. I don't think it's a good idea to hand over membership since the original posters never...
I think the costume characters will be there for sure, i don't think it's a definite you'll see the puppets though. Disney don't seem to want to do much publicly with the Muppets until they have a big project to launch with and it's probably a lot of red tape with the Muppeteers not working for...
