Toy Fair is Feb 20-23, but the one to look out for is Licensing International on June 21-23. This is where Disney will be pimping the Muppets, and Hit Fraggle etc to all the potential new licensees and talking about all the new stuff they'll be doing TV/Film wise. May even get a Muppet...
We do know for sure, that's what i'm saying. From reading the question threads i'm pretty sure Ken has stated there is no chance now.
As for Cheap New Figures, lets put it this way - they were the only ones interested in taking those exclusives and got behind the line and the collectors when...
I believe the EM Minis have been ruled out now, i guess with them being a direct item they know they can't make it work wheras things like Sal depend on the retailers. Ken made some comment making it pretty clear because he was getting a lot of questions on em.
It's a big shame about Tutu Pepe and the Robobusters. However this isn't to say that another company won't be picking up the action figure license via Disney. There have been some rumors, lets put it that way. Of course they'd be a lot more mainstream than what Palisades have been doing so it...
I think it would be fun, depending on the format. Yes it is pandering to whats popular nowdays, but then again a puppet reality show is definitely creative, innovative and unique. Hasn't been done anywhere else and it'll take some creativity to come up with something that'll work.
That is so fantastic - yay Warrick ! Your petition not only helped get the show on DVD but it (and you) are now promoting the show and DVD's. If this doesn't get you a Henson audition someday then i'd be mighty surprised !
You're talking about the American Idol style skits they were filming at Disney World last Summer right? That was pretty much done as a spoof, any Muppet reality show is going to be done as some kinda spoof to an extent.
TMS wasn't taped at the Elstree Studios thats mentioned in most of the text Gelfingwardo pasted, that is the one where Hoobs and Star Wars have been taping and Henson were renting a production office. TMS was taped at what is now "BBC Elstree", and is mentioned in that text as the Elstree TV...
It just didn't translate to plastic very well. The Frogscout figure itself just felt and looked a bit cheap and finnicky to me, because of the small parts obviously. A lot of people had joints popping out and had problems getting it to stand up.
I like it a lot, will make a nice desk display, and of course 100% of the profits are going towards the Cooper Perry Fund which is an amazing thing to do so BUY LOADS. Also i have to say Frogscout Leader Kermit is looking very snazzily dressed in the daily bit, i thought the Robin figure was a...
He's not officially retired from JHC, its the same kind of thing as with Frank. The characters are performed by others but he may still be involved at times. If they were to do something with Fraggle i'm sure it wouldn't be impossible for him to loop the voices. In a recent interview he said...
There is no other Piggy figure scheduled. The long hair "EB Exclusive" version of the Series 1 figure is better than the normal retail one. Other than that you could try the Palisades forum for anyone trading a Pigs In Space Piggy on her own without the playset.
All segments of JHH containing the Classic Muppets were bought by Disney. Only those not containing them were retained by Henson and are available for distribution by HIT!.
:smirk:
Henson were developing a new CGI "Muppet Babies" style show. That's not to say it will happen under Disney, but there have been tests for it. The promotional push for Muppet Babies merchandise based on the old cartoon didn't go down all that well last year, the retro market was very crowded...
That's not Bill in the cap, but it IS Steve next to Dave. I would think that's a behind the scenes shot, the big giveaway to me is that they are just standing against a plain background - looks like they are just off set viewing back the rushes. The other guys look more like crew than actors too.
