I think I might just get the boxed set anyway. All 3 are really worth getting, in my opinion. Good classic stuff on all of them, but then, we've already covered that on this thread, right? :-)
Don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but here's more confirmation of "The Power of the Dark Crystal" project- they have Trevor Jones on board to do the soundtrack...
Okay, here's the rest of the scoop on the "Happy Healthy Monsters" video.
As far as bonus stuff goes, there is a short game called "Chef Cookie Game" in which Cookie's voice guides you in building an omelette. Then there's "Healthy Foods" coloring sheets available on your DVD-ROM drive...
Just to add a little to the discussion of older actors playing younger teens, check these examples out!
Ralph Macchio was 23 playing young teenager Daniel LaRusso in 1984's "The Karate Kid"!!! (I think Daniel San was probably like 13 or so. My goodness- Ralph sure looked it too- hard to...
Wow! I remember those cartoons! Those were cool with the witch talking about the archer shooting his arrow, etc. I don't quite remember all of it that well. Good memory, Katzi!:)
Here's a review of "Happy Healthy Monsters", a 2005 release on VHS and DVD. This review is for the DVD release, which includes extras such as "Chef Cookie Game", "Healthy Foods Coloring Sheet" and Bonus Footage: "Kids Talk About Their Favorite Foods", "Cookie Monster's 'Food Song' and "Dancing...
Scooter sang this song on the Phyllis George episode, which was supposed to be a "best of" The Muppet Show awards episode (though they didn't show any old clips or anything). I think this is a 4th. season episode and I believe the Star Wars episode didn't come along until after this, so that's...
Can't believe I forgot A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving!!! That's a great special! And definitely the Thanksgiving episode of WKRP in Cinicinnatti- I love that show!!! And the Thanksgiving episode is probably the best remembered episode of the whole series! It's one of the funniest, that's for...
Well, there's a lot of good things to be said about Thanksgiving. It's got to be the least marketable holiday and that's a good thing. I mean, it's kinda hard to be selling people more stuff for a holiday that's all about stopping and being thankful for what you already have!:attitude:
And...
Well, I just named the counting sketches that I remembered and actually liked on The Great Numbers Game. I own the video, so when I get some more time I might see if I can fully list some sort of description of all the counting sketches, just for the sake of completeness.
And the "Sesame...
And here's a review of the 2005 release of "Sesame Street Goes to the Doctor"- brought to you by Pfizer! (At least they had their commercial on at the start of the video)
We hear the strains of the Sesame Street theme song (though not actually sung) and a blue Muppet looking really similar...
Okay, here's a really quick and abbreviated review of "The Great Numbers Game". It's a 1998 release and the back of the box has the 30 Years of Sesame Street logo on it, so I guess this counts in as a 30th. anniversary item. This thing actually starts with a big button labelled "Start". You...
sorry, I was a little off in my spelling. Just double checked. Here's the correct spelling.
Martina Navratilova- a really great tennis player (very famous in the 1980s) and of course, another great Sesame Street guest star.
:zany:
Actually, while the Electric Company definitely had Spider-Man on there (he never really said anything though- just saw thought bubbles on the screen like in a comic book, with a narrator telling the story) - I know for sure on this one- I've got an episode on tape with Spidey on it!!!:)
But...
Just to clarify, the name of the special was "The Muppets- A Celebration of 30 Years".
Yorick, and Sam, and I think Harry all showed up on the 1986 "The Muppets- A Celebration of 30 Years" special
Bruce Campbell is a great actor (most notable, to me anyway, for a cameo role in Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, guest starring as Billy Church on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and best of all, starring on The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.!!!)
So yeah, it'd be cool seeing...
By the way, the tennis player Bob sang with on "Put Down the Duckie" is Martina Navrilota (I think that's how you spell it)
I actually have the "Getting Ready for School" video and I currently have the "I'm Glad I'm Me" video checked out from the library. As soon as I get a chance, I will...
