Statler and waldorf and church ministry? Doesn't sound like a normal combination... are you using replica puppets of the two? although I don't have any scripts you could always have the two of them hurling insults at eachother and getting upset at eachother and then learning to forgive eachother...
I'm really enjoying that we get new muppet material every two weeks. Even if it is only for 5 minutes it is wuite enjoyable. The material is funny and I personally would like to see more mock celebrity interviews.
A little metaphysical Phantom, but the point is there. I think what unites a lot of artists (whether it be in puppetry or cartooning) is that at our essence we wish to tell a story.
Hmmm... Interesting thread. I actually started in the cartooning area and found that I enjoy puppets more. I've been teaching art for seven years and in the last few have actually introduced Puppetry as a unit (even do basic puppet making though not my strong suit). BTW I like the idea of doing...
I don't think disney would have too much trouble using clips from henson properties (such as Emmet Otter). Isn't there a consulting agreement between the two companies for a number of years? sesame street on the other hand...
Scratch that... actually did my own search and it is some disney fan club thing... which means that if all this is true, there should be people who went to this convention who could back it up.
Great puppets!!! I have a lot of respect for those that can build puppets, as I am a performer and not to good at the building aspect (although I like to try, I just don't have the patience). That being said if you were to start an online workshop I certainly would be interested in checking it out.
I'm not sure if this is true of pepe or the raqts but I have seen some puppets with a rod that has a trigger that operates the mouth. It pulls down on a spring and when you let go it closes again. There is a similar string pulling mechanism on page 71 of John Kennedy's Puppet Mania book. I wish...
Well I rented the movie at blockbuster and my biggest disapointment is that I didn't buy it instead. It was a fun, imaginative family film. None of the toilet humor you get in films geared towards children these days. In fact it certainly seemd to be in the spirit of Jim Henson: sophisticated...
These are quite impressive ( I like the first two... very unique). I've never been able to make decent puppets myself so I'm always impressed when I see puppets that people here online have made. If you put these up on e-bayor someother way of selling them I certainly will keep my eyes open.
I saw that one of the check companies has sesame street checks... Thats's what I plan to switch to when my muppet ones run out... not sure which company though.
This seemed to come out under the radar. Oddly enough it comes with a ticket to the charlie and the chocolate factory atrocity. For what its worth though your review above makes it sound good so I might check it out.
I like Fozzie. something about the whole insecure yet lovable thing. The fact that he keeps trying and his loyalty to kermit (well except for the whole bit where he's curious if Doc Hopper is interested in bears in the muppet movie).
