I find it refreshing. One of the worst celebrity casts of an animated film has to be Dreamwork's Sinbad movie. A-list celebrities that don't sound too remarkable. And while Jim Carrey is a huge name, they could have got Matt Frewer to be Horton for a lower price. They sound that identical...
Is Barney torturous to watch if you're over a certain age? Absolutely. Does it have an air of suburban smugness and a patronizing tone? It sure does. But frightening is something Barney is not.
Oogieloves look like one of those medium budget Barney Knockoff from the 90's (not quite a huge...
I said this in another thread.
As awful as the Oogieloves is, there are a lot of even worse, ugly, hideous, scary things out there. No denying they're freaking terrible and that no one cares to see any of those movies... but that Wizard hat and Bunny show? I'd say someone could make a creepy...
Well, it is a good 2 weeks before then. If it can follow the success of The Croods (which also had a late March release), it might not matter. If it can make up its budget and more in the first week, it's still considered a success.
Yet, I see Monsters Inc and Despicable Me toys (yes, the very ones I complained about being too expensive) selling out left and right. Yes, my market is probably not indicative, but I see this always go on with "successful" toy lines based on movies. Even if they do sell, they sure as heck...
I think it's firmly been established that Ken Viselmann has humongous delusions of grandeur. I doubt he'd be gol'durn fool enough to give this another theatrical release...ah, who am I kidding? I'm sure he is that gol'durn stupid and more. The obliviousness on this guy rivals Inspector Gadget...
I'm still kinda annoyed that Phil's sappy, narmy song from Tarzan got an academy award, and South Park's brilliant "Blame Canada" with even more brillianter performance by Robin Williams was snubbed.
At least those South park boys had fun with that. I wonder what they would have done if Book...
Must be regional. Everywhere I go, I see peg warmers and deep discount clearance.
My local Disney store must've cleared out the same Cars toys they keep restocking for no reason at least 3 or 4 times now. And these are the same stores that the Muppets stuff sold like hotcakes, and they only...
Dagnabbit Cracked...
Okay... this is hard. I actually can no longer say how creepy and disturbing Oogieloves is, because this is a hundred times worse. That hat is frightening!
Mainly because if they order too many episodes of something they'd assume is a hit, they'd order too many episodes and then have to burn them all off in Summer or something.\
Meanwhile, I noticed that some cartoons now don't have massively long breaks during the season, and some of those have...
A couple added things.
Firstly, while there weren't any actual cameos in Man of Steal, there's a lot more hinted at, as this article will show than just Lex Corp and Wayne Industries.
Interesting point, the Dark Knight films do not take place in the same universe.
Secondly... A Third Dumb...
Anything that could be said about either Jungle Book movie is nothing more than speculation at this point. I severely doubt Disney or WB would do anything as far removed from the book as the cartoon. But book movies are never completely accurate anyway. Some things are moved around or changed...
Okay... here's something that does make this film sound stupid. Apparently Warner Bros wants to make a Jungle Book movie as well.
Oh, and BTW, there is no way this could be a remake of the cartoon version. Unless they change the name and voice of a certain orangutang. Sour old widow ruined...
I am REALLY getting sick and tired of their garbage player. My internet connection isn't that slow. They've gone from one of the best, most fluid players in the business to sucking as much as legal streaming sites.
Now that I think about it... I really wonder how good the March release date is going to work, since about 2 weeks later, the blockbuster sequel to Captain America comes out.
I'm wondering of the color and brightness has something to do with making them look good for digital media. Let's face it, everything's either exceedingly bright now, or has some weird filter to it. Either that blue filter that pops up in sci-fi type films, or the occasional filter that makes...
Well, both films are lame attempts to sell toys and start franchises destined only to sell toys. I'm sure Turbo will be a hit with the booger eating crowd, but hopefully Despicable Me 2 (which, not only is more fiercely marketed, but has more tie-ins) will take a huge chunk out of it.
