I can't see how this thing will make any money. I've seen monsters in horror movies that weren't as scary as these Oogielove things. I'll bet if you took any random Friday The 13th film and replaced Jason with one of those abominations it'd make it ten times scarier.
Also I noticed an ad for...
Either The Muppet Show, The Muppet Movie or Sesame Street. I got into the Muppets at a very early age in the late 70s/early 80s. I know The Muppet Movie was the second movie my mom took me to when I was little ( Disney's Jungle Book being the first ) But I don't know if this was before or after...
It's been years since I bought anything Henson related. The last things I bought were Dark Crystal and Labyrinth DVDs. I was going to buy an Oscar The Grouch T-Shirt at Wal Mart a few months ago but they didn't have one in my size.
Am I misremembering or did NBC have Traveling Matt host the entire Saturday morning lineup at one point? I seem to remember him introducing cartoons other than Fraggle Rock.
Growing up doesn't neccessarily mean leaving behind the things you loved as a kid. I'm 35. I still watch cartoons, collect toys and sleep with a stuffed animal. I still cherish the things I loved as a kid because the toys, shows and movies I grew up with helped shape who I became.
Some of my best childhood memories revolve around the TMNT. I saw the first movie in theatres four times. I collected the toys, played the games and watched the cartoon religiously. When the first movie came out K-Mart had a promotion at their grill where you could get a TMNT water bottle with...
I loathe Boo Bahs. Back when I was collecting Poo-Chi robot dogs the Poo-Chis were located right next to singing, motion activated Boo Bah toys at my local Wal Mart. Every time I went to buy a new Poo-Chi I had to contend with those singing horrors. The slightest motion would set the darn things...
I saw ads for this thing just the other day and figured it was just some direct to DVD thing at first. I was shocked when I realized this thing was going to theatres. The characters are horrifying. There's absolutely nothing appealing about them. I hope this thing doesn't take off. I'd hate to...
I'm pretty sure I was able to recognize Big Bird when I was 3. Heck according to my parents I was reading at 3. My mom credits a steady diet of Sesame Street and The Electric Company for that.
When I was five years old I had to go to day care every day. In the middle of the day we'd have nap time which consisted of putting us in a darkened room with blankets and pillows. For some reason I hated it. I don't know if it was the dark or having to be quiet or what but having to do it...
I love both characters greatly. I've been wanting to name a pet Fizzgig for years but every time we get a new one I keep getting outvoted by the rest of the family. Partially because no one else knows who the character is and partially because they just think the name's wierd. No accounting for...
I had Snoopy, ET, Pound Puppies and My Pet Monster lunch boxes. All but ET were plastic. I no longer have any of them. I wish I still had the Snoopy and Pound Puppies lunch boxes for my collection of dog stuff. The ET and My Pet Monster lunch boxes were no great loss.
I'll say this. If the Muppets loses to friggin' RIO of all things I swear I'll find whoever's responsible and get them intimately aquainted with the biggest, heaviest baseball bat I can find. I'll kick their tails so hard they'll burp farts for the next decade.
