Ever since I got The Muppet Movie on DVD earlier this year and started watching it regularly again, I've found there's something about hearing Jim as Kermit singing "The Rainbow Connection" in that "opening" log scene that chokes me up. I'm not sure why but I think it might be that it's one of...
I knew what I was voting for as soon as I saw the title of this thread. :) Christmas Eve on Sesame Street-- I used to watch it every year. I don't know if there's much else I can say about it with what everyone else has stated so well. But there's another reason why I will always remember it...
I definitely watch it on YouTube, more than once a year ;). Growing up my sister and I had a VHS tape of Christmas/holiday specials my mom recorded off of TV in the early '80s, with Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and Muppet Family Christmas as just 2 of the shows on it. The tape disappeared...
"Saying Goodbye" has always affected me since I saw a montage set to that song that honored Richard Hunt on YouTube. Scooter's part especially has a different meaning for me now, in one sense.
I voted for Muppet Family Christmas. Muppet Christmas Carol would be #2. To be honest, I've never seen the other 3.
BTW, I'm glad someone else mentioned Rocky Mountain Holiday because I recently got that DVD at a pawn shop but then realized it wasn't the John Denver Christmas special everyone...
In the non-material category, I want to have an enjoyable and healthy first Christmas with my husband.
As far as a Christmas list... mostly more stuff that I have no room for. :) (And if Muppet stuff, so much the better, eh?)
That made me laugh. Great memory.
My least favorite Christmas song is quickly becoming "We Need A Little Christmas." It really makes no sense. Why do we NEED a little Christmas, right this VERY minute? And if it's truly that urgent, why call for only a little?
Tonight my husband and I were in the car and we drove by two dalmatians... yeah I started singing that part from the Muppet Show dog walk sketch that Richard sang: "There goes a dalmatian, goodness gracious how he's spotted. Better cross your fingers, in case he brings bad luck..."
I always thought Bert started "rhyming" with the lamp because he got so into the game that he couldn't stop and got carried away... btw that is one of my fave Ernie and Bert sketches, too :)
It's Zoe's laugh that's always bothered me. And I would agree that when Zoe debuted she was random and kind of all over the place. I think Elmo is more annoying when paired with her.
Count me in for the anti-Baby Bear team. The way he talks has ALWAYS bothered me.
I never liked Humphrey --...
A couple Animal quotes from Muppet Family Christmas
Doc: Remember me? I rented this place to have a nice, quiet Christmas.
Animal: Peace on earth! Gimmie presents!
(Telephone rings)
Animal: TEL-E-PHONE! TEL-E-PHONE!
Kermit: Oh, that's just Animal.
Animal (picking up the phone): HELLO! HELLO...
I can't believe this thread has been around all this time and I finally thought of a film to contribute. Just now I remembered that I liked Elizabethtown and yet critics seemed to hate it. For years I liked almost everything Kirsten Dunst did, though...
