As a fellow Rowlf lover (Rowlf fans unite!!), let me tell you, it's next to impossible to find stuff - my wonderful husband got me a stuffed Rowlf from the 80's off of Ebay last year and I don't even want to know what he spent on it - your best bet is likely checking Ebay, that's the only place...
Oh hurray for an update! I have missed your writing - heartwrenching as it is - I have really missed it. This was a difficult chapter, but I actually really liked the scene with Maggie and Mom - it would be just like Maggie to want to defend her brother and it is just like Mom to bring her...
I know! And I think that everyone was expecting something! Even as simple as like in TMTM when Animal goes "Bye bye, bye bye" or in the first movie when he's like "go home, go home!"
I have seen it twice so far. The first was a late show on Wednesday, so it was pretty much just adults in the theatre. It was a small crowd, but a fun one, I think a lot of the group were pretty big fans. Every person stayed until the very last credit was done and we all applauded and someone...
I am one of the select few who actually kind of enjoyed this number - there is always a "Piggy" moment in each movie and it often is in song, so I felt it was appropriate even if she had to share the moment with Mary. And it felt very 70's/80's retro in that scene so I kind of liked it.
I've been teasing that I'd like to run away and marry Walter (kind of tongue and cheek here) but I'd proudly declare myself a "Walter" Because I definitely could relate to him quite a bit in the opening montage. Although I was made fun of more for loving Sesame Street into my "past Sesame age"...
That might be all of them actually, I hadn't noticed the banner the first time I saw the movie, but I saw it the second time for sure. And I agree with Slackbot, I guess Mahna Mahna counts for me! Plus the two times we hear Kermit say "It's the Muppet Show" from the old recordings in the movie!
Saw the movie for a 2nd time today and my love grew even more. The theatre was even fuller than it was the first time I went and there were more kids today, but they were all really well behaved! My mom cried at the Rainbow Connection. I started to play spot the "Jim's" today, there are so...
Beth: *opens door* Hey Ru! Hi Kermit, Piggy and Fozzie! It's nice to see all of you! Look at this fudge and eggnog and cookies!
Cookie Monster: Cookie??
Rowlf: It's Beth's birthday man, we have to share
Cookie: Me can do that
Red: Oh fudge is very sweet like doozer sticks, awesome!
Beth...
Beth: Thanks Ed and Kathy! These are wonderful gifts!
Red: Want to share that gift card with me?
Beth: Nope, sorry dear, this one's mine
Red: Fair enough.
I didn't mention last night because I was still somewhat in just total awe of everything, but everyone in my theatre stayed till the very last credit was gone and applauded. I'm not kidding. And someone even said "I wish it wasn't over yet! I want more!"
I thought that was pretty awesome.
I LOVE Kristin Schaal! Between her and Bret Mckenzie doing the music, this was like the perfect Flight of the Concords meets the Muppets mashup! And as a fan of FOTC, it's like just the best thing ever to me!
