This is a good thread, and I'm afraid I derailed it not meaning to, please carry on, everyone, and tell your stories.

Is anyone interested in a great books thread?

Yes, me too, I think it's the best-known and most-read of her books. Her short story collections are wonderful too.

Is anyone interested in a great books thread?

Also, for those reading in the Lovely Bones calibre/genre, Isabel Allende's books. She's got an amazing personal history too. They're translated from Spanish usually but worth the little glitches. The only one of hers not worth it, really, is Portraits In Sepia, oddly not near the quality of...

    Happy Singles Thread!

Zoot and I being identical cousins, and Zoot being severely unemployed and so lunching frequently with me, I can tell the world he does not have yellow eyes. Where's that club, anyway?? He's late. Men.

The club and I will make a spiffy couple, especially my blue-green Zootskin with his yellow eyes, Yowza.

Is anyone interested in a great books thread?

I've read all of Aggie's books many times over, still do even though I know the plots/endings. Dorothy Sayers, if you haven't read her, she wasn't nearly as prolific as Aggie (I don't know that anybody was), not that many books but anybody who likes A.C. likes Dorothy's stories, they're good...

Pictures of Me and my Christmas cartoons!

If you haven't already, just go a-googling and type Cartoon Syndicates in your search window, very informative and free submission guidelines you can print out, good stuff. You've got a lot of talent cooking there. You know, our puppets have four fingers but they never draw, it's shocking how...

I've been looking/longing for a yellow-eyed club all my single life. At last, at last. :D

Post a pic of yourself for all to admire

I will never post my picture because then everyone will know I'm fat with tatoos chainsmoking cigarettes wearing black leather chaps and cavorting with bikers every weekend. Actually, I closely resemble Zoot, I believe he's my first cousin. Actually, I'm skinny and look pretty good. No one...

Do you know what's really sad?

Boards can be a safe haven. That's what home is supposed to be but, sadly, isn't always, for some. I'm the same on this board as I am in real life, so is fishnwolfe. But we have a happy, respectful, fun and safe homelife. The Chapmans are to be credited for setting a tone of courtesy and...

Neat. That's rather intriguing, that they got it to rhyme. It would seem that some of the humor, especially, might be hard to bring across in some languages. Very interesting.

Is anyone interested in a great books thread?

I'm impressed. Seriously, that's most cool. I'm curious, does it tell the same story?? Meaning, do you find it loses/gains anything in editing/translation? Or is it exact?
